1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
I was expecting something a little better from Highland. Alas, it was not to be. Pours, and looks, like a lager. The stark white, frothy head was an instant giveaway. Light gold color and superclarified. Fresh cut grass and wet hay aromas....a little skunky. Light floral notes muddled with lemon zest. No malt to speak of. The body light to medium and the palate is watery and thin. Finishes with a lingering bitterness. Pass.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle pours golden with a white head. Spicy, floral aroma with a little yeast in there. Smooth palate. Extremely bitter flavor lingers for quite some time.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Pours a light clean orange. Barely any head and what's there disappears quickly. Floral to slightly peppery aroma. This beer has a very spicy hop character to it followed by floral notes. Taste is reminiscent of toasted bread smeared with honey. Slight graininess. The bitterness lingers a bit. It finishes very dry. This isn't the typical balanced/malty English style IPA. Hop forward, spicy, quasi-English style IPA. Good drinkable beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle poured a bright deep yellow color with a soapy white head that disappeared quickly..some decent lacing on the glass. the aroma is a bit malty, flowery and grassy if that makes any sense. the flavor is a mild bitterness with some flowery hops followed on the back end with grassiness. not a solid ipa but it is drinkable. it just seems a bit off but then they could have used some different hops in this. it is rather smooth in texture.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Clear yellow gold with not much head. Mild hop aroma with a flowery flavor but really not that hoppy. This is one of those IPA’s that anyone can drink and think they are into IPA’s. It’s not awful, but certainly falls short of your average IPA.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle into shaker. Pours a dense thick white head and leaves dense lace. Transparent golden amber color. Not much aroma, but what is there is light floral notes and earthy hops. Flavor is bland as well with light honey and hops. Flat upfront with lingering light bitter finish. Overall just meh.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2014 Bottle: thanks, Jeff! Hazed golden, yellow body with a soapy white head that recedes quickly. Aroma is muted grassy, weedy, vegetal notes with light perfume. Taste is quietly bitter leaves & slightly oily hops with a mild perfume & soapy character that isn’t all too pleasing. Light cracker malt, dry finish. Faint orange & a slight rubbery aftertaste. Just okay.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 12 ounce bottle bought as part of a mix six pack from Whole Foods in Brentwood (suburban Nashville) Tennessee. Slightly hazy gold hue with slight amber tint, small white head that mostly lasted with good lacing, moderate bittersweet nose with an unpleasant smell in the backround, moderate to strong bittersweet with initial citrus burst followed by hops and then a sugary finish--aftertaste not all that good. Good IPA but recipe could stand a little tweaking.
