COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the best things about living in a town like Asheville is that there is no shortage of musicians looking for part-time work. One day on the mixed pack assembly line, Jason Mencer of Now you See Them, noticed there was enough talent on the line to create a compilation CD. After several months of planning and recording, the Highland Mountain Medley Mix CD, and LAMA Legato Saison were released in February. LAMA Legato Saison uses a saison yeast and is fermented at a higher temperature to allow additional esters to develop and add to the complexity. Bittered with Styrian Golding and finished with Styrian Bobek, this 5.2%ABV beer is a refreshing reminder that spring is on the way.

Draft at brewer on 5/6. A clear yellow beer with a thin white head. Scent is floral. Taste is sweet with pepper notes. Not my style.

Sampled at brewvival 2011. Clear pale yellow pour looked pretty typical for the style. A little peppery and vanilla. Floral Pretty damn good, but a little on the sweet side for my taste.

A golden blonde saison with a thin white head. In aroma, frankincense, mandarine pulp and lightly sulfurly notes, a bit bizarre. In mouth, a smooth saison with cardamom notes, fragrant ashes, very interesting. On tap at Brewvival, Feb. 26 2011.
