chronictonic (341), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2008 on tap - jack of the wood pub - asheville nc Poured a mahogony dark brown nearly black with a medium tan head. Mild aroma of sweet malt with toffee notes. Medium body - slightly roasty but not over the top. Great mouth feel from the oats - smooth and creamy. Very well balanced ported. timsilvia32 (164), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 11, 2008 You get the roasted tones immediately in the nose. Nice black/brown pour with a tan head. Some hop character not too much though. It is very well balanced with the flavors, which are pretty traditional for a porter. jrmac (118), USA Jul 10, 2008 Outstanding. Really great mocha, roast malt and coffee flavor. A great brewery. Can’t wait to see what comes from them in the future. sallad (66), USA Jun 28, 2008 Clear, dark bronze with deep ruby highlights. Rocky beige head. Dark chocolate in the nose, with hints of charred earth and wood, faint spice of hops. A little bitey up front, then bitter bakers chocolate mixed with orange peels.
