A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Pours dark brown and deep garnet in the light. Light tan head that's frothy. Aroma is light malt and roast chocolate. Taste is roast malt and more chocolate notes and coffee. Finish has some hops and aftertaste is roast bitter chocolate. Somewhat lacking in depth and complexity, but an easy-drinking brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brunsvart öl med ett beige skum. Doft av malt och lätt rostade toner. Smaken är ganska söt. Havrekakor och rostade toner. Viss efterbeska.

Draft to taster. Looks good; cola with ample foamy light beige head. Smells of dark malt, bitter chocolate, and some roast. Tastes like it smells, only smoother and more balanced. Nice on the palate. Enjoyable.

Tasted on vacation to Atlantic Beach, NC. Dark, robust coffee scent, gorgeous black pour with big foamy tan head and thick lacing, medium creamy feel, and a big coffee oatmeal dark chocolate flavor. A fine porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was light roast and chocolate. Flavor similar, but bland and very watery for a Porter.

Deep brick-red color that simply glows at the edges. Big, puffy off-white head. There isn’t a ton of aroma, what there is is very dry. You can practically smell the dried malts, still dry. The flavor is incredibly molasses-based. It’s got toffee and caramel in spades, but then has a nutty finish that blunts the flavors. It’s supremely dry, The feel is bone-dry, almost as if on nitro. It fits the style well. The flavors are alternately sweet and dry, which make it very very drinkable. It’s a unique oatmeal.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2013 Bottle thanks to lithy. Pours a dark cola color with a tan head. Not a whole lot of aroma, maybe some maltiness. I’m not so sure that this should be called a porter. Edit: After reading up on the history of a porter, this could be considered true to the original style with less dark malts. I’m still not that impressed by it.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, nearly black mahogany with a small khaki head and very good lacing. Fairly mild aroma of roasted grain, coffee and chocolate with a touch of hay. Taste of toasted (almost burnt) grain, caramel, coffee, herbal hops and chocolate. Medium/light body and high/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
