COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Pours a dark brown with a medium beige head, with hardly any lacing. Aroma is full of coffee and chocolate. A solid porter.

Dark Brews are not really my cup of tea, but this one is decent. It's not as creamy as say, something you'd get in Europe, but it's better than Yuengling Black and Tan.

Acquired via trade. My favorite of the Highland brews (so far). Pours a very dark brown with a medium and pretty tan head. Little lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and nuts. Medium bodied with a nice roasty blend of chocolate and espresso (which would be a mocha I guess). Finish is a little nutty and a little hoppy. Pretty good.

Black and oily with a small tan head. Nose is near perfect, a collection of aromas from all of my favorite dark ales (chocolate, gourmet coffee, oatiness, cereal, and hoppiness). The taste is out of this World (almost!) and totally reminded me of Count Chocula Breakfast cereal. Thick and creamy, this was on draft at a small bar in Gatlinburg TN.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2003 I liked this one. Fig colored. Malty and carmely with some roast flavors mixed in. Some acidity to the finish. Good brew.

Nice colour, and a fantastic smell. Great overall flavour, lasting long in the mouth!

One of the best things about moving to the Asheville, NC area was finding this wonderful porter. Rich and smooth great color, and a nice finish.

This one pours a very dark brown color with a small tan head that does not linger. It has a very light aroma of malts with a touch of roasted chocolate and smokiness. Very smooth and creamy, with a touch of roastiness in the finish and oatmeal up front. Smooth and tasty, I could drink a lot of this stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 a crispy african with a frothy fro..late night starbuck drunkiness..mint chocolate chip bitterballs..tangy lingerings..definite hoppiness in there..some roasts and a full but not so full body if you think about it..but flavor dies off too quickly and leaves nothing to impress
