COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Iím not quite sure how a breakfast food got introduced to beer. I managed to force this entire thing down. No redeaming qualities. Overpowering smell and no head. Toss this one into a nearby manhole if possible. Nothing good ever came out of Asheville.. including this swill.

Draft. Pours dark copper brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Tastes like very roasted malt, toast, woody, lightly burnt coffee. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like creamy roasted malt, nutty.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Slight chocolate aroma with more hops aroma than most porters. Thin mouthfeel but with a nice medium taste. Not to malty or hoppy taste.

12 oz bottle, served in a pint glass. Pours dark brownish black with medium thick creamy mocha head. Aroma is smooth dark roasty malt, light creamy chocolate notes. Taste is crisp super smooth dark chocolate malt, light roasty notes on the finish. Really well balanced. Oatmeal makes this incredibly smooth. One of the better straight porters Iíve had; in the same league as Black Butte, Edmund Fitzgerald, etc. Only shortcoming is perhaps a little light on the hops.

Bottle->pokal. Deep brown with moderate frothy lite tan head. A: chocolate, roasted malt, cereal. T: cocoa, oats, roasted malt. Bittersweet, and a tad watery. Decent, if unexciting.

Pours dark brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and toasted malts. Taste is pretty much the same, big roasty malts. Almost stout like, but a little thinner. Easy to drink. Very good!
