A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Bottle in Atlanta. Very nice. Super dark pour with a nice beige head. Coffee, chocolate and caramel are evident on the nose and in the flavor. Some good sweetness and a bit yeaty. Mouthfeel isnt quite as good as the flavor, but this is good stuff.

Bottle... Extremely dark pour (clear ruby when held up to bright light). Small, fizzy, beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are somewhat bland, but unoffensive. Maybe a light touch of chocolate. Light-bodied and lightly creamy with fizzy carbonation. Watery finish. Not bad, but nothing really going on here either.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Hoppy porter. Stouty in finish. Lots of lace fresh, Highland is coming to the taps here big-time.

Bottle shared by pilsnerpeter. Deep black beer. Aroma is fairly interesting. Chewy soft aroma. A bit of caramel and toast. Some charred sugar and a bit of light treacle. Flavour is a bit strange though. Lightly plasticy and sweet with a strange slickness that I’m not really a fan of. Sort of orangey. It tastes like they added patent malt to a scottish ale recipe.
