The aroma is very faint. The malts are a bit too bitter for me, sour almost. I am a big fan of oatmeal stouts and smokey porters. Unfortunately this didn't taste like it met either of those. I couldn't taste the chocolate flavors described and the hops seem to be lost in the sourness. Perhaps this is better when it is fresher, or on tap... I had a bottle.

It pours dark brown with a brown head. There are moderate fruit aroma with Roast, chocolate, and some nut. There are flavors of roast and citrus with chocolate, oats, and nut. It has a moderate feel that is on the heavy side with a moderately high bitter finish. It has a fairly high level of carbonation. Overall it is a malt forward ale with a pleasant balance of citrus hops.

Dark brown, tan head. Don’t get any smoothness you would expect of an oatmeal. Mild chocolate flavor, sweetness a little, followed by a little bitterness on the tail end.

At the brewery : Nice smell of chocolate and medium roast. Taste is the same with medium-light mouthfeel. Easy drinking porter but on the lighter side so good for warmer days maybe. Not bad.
