COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2013 Bottle at Local 3. Deep walnut with creamy head. Aroma of chocolate and roast. Taste was sweet with a slightly dry, bitter finish. The roast and chocolate flavor come through nicely. Body is a bit light and the beer goes down real smooth. Very enjoyable porter. On tap at Taco Mac 10/12/13. I found the draft version to have heavier ans creamier body. Very good.

At the brewery : Nice smell of chocolate and medium roast. Taste is the same with medium-light mouthfeel. Easy drinking porter but on the lighter side so good for warmer days maybe. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle into stout glass. Looks like a stout. Smells like stout. Taste slightly charred almost burnt but not in a bad way. Hint of toffee. No chocolate or coffee. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark (almost black) amber with a creamy, tall, light-tan head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is of sweet chocolate with hints of caramel. Taste is sweet to start with but then has a slight amount of bitter-sour for the finish, which makes for a nice contrast. The beer has a medium body with a silky texture. Carbonation is average. Overall, this is a nice beer. I’ve had better Porters than this, but I would certainly buy (and more importantly) drink this again. Thankfully, this is carried by my local grocer, so I will probably be partaking again very soon!

Semi-transparent dark pour with a thin, light tan head and strong sweet cocoa & dark chocolate aroma. The line between sweet stout & this porter is very thin. Very nice taste that imitates the smell with some vanilla and the slightest bitterness that cuts some of the sweetness. Flavorful & enjoyable.

1/VI/15 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from a trade @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: XI/22/14 (2015-742) Thanks to Scott for the trade!

Clear chestnut brown to purplish beer, small irregular creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Doesn’t look like a porter to start with. Aroma: nutty, caramel, sweet, some mocha, toast, dried fruits, banana, some cocoa powder. Doesn’t smell like a porter either, more like a brown ale or a Belgian dubbel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of caramel, bit sourish, yeast, hoppy bitterness, some banana, soft roasted flavour. Aftertaste: hoppy, banana, bit nutty, toast, yeast, caramel, dried fruit, bit yeasty, bread. Nope, doesn’t taste like a porter either. They should sell this as a dubbel. Very weird.
