COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

12 ounce bottle- poured out a promising shiny black with a thick tan head. Aroma was sweet, including cherries and malt. Palate was thin, a little disappointing. Taste was average, earthy and thin. Average.

Another great oatmeal stout from local highland. Milky flavor and easy to drink. Slight chocolate notes. Pours dark brown in color with a tan had. Had at Carolina ale house in Charlotte ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Slight chocolate aroma with more hops aroma than most porters. Thin mouthfeel but with a nice medium taste. Not to malty or hoppy taste.

12 oz bottle, served in a pint glass. Pours dark brownish black with medium thick creamy mocha head. Aroma is smooth dark roasty malt, light creamy chocolate notes. Taste is crisp super smooth dark chocolate malt, light roasty notes on the finish. Really well balanced. Oatmeal makes this incredibly smooth. One of the better straight porters I’ve had; in the same league as Black Butte, Edmund Fitzgerald, etc. Only shortcoming is perhaps a little light on the hops.

Pours dark brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and toasted malts. Taste is pretty much the same, big roasty malts. Almost stout like, but a little thinner. Easy to drink. Very good!

Draught at the Barley's, Asheville, NC. Dark reddish brown almost black colour with a small light tan head. Roasted malt, sweetness, mild coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma. Roasted malt, sweetness and mild hops in the flavour. Decent porter. A bit less sweetness and it'll be great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: clear dark ruby brown, with lighter brown highlights and a creamy medium tan head. Aroma: very roasty nose, with dark chocolate, espresso, light vanilla. Taste: bittersweet dark chocolate, roasty coffee, hint of chocolate cookies, light toffee and cream. Finish: dry and smooth, creamy palate, roasty bitterness lingers. Notes: Excellent porter, decently balanced, with the oatmeal adding an excellent creaminess to the palate.
