COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Status uncertain.
At 9% ABV it sits nicely beside our Orkney Porter, also 9%, and is the first time we’ve brewed a barley wine. A lovely deep amber in colour, we loaded it full of American hops - and then we put some more in! All in the interest of balance, it also contains a small mountain of Maris Otter pale malt.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2013 Cask at CP&K, Pimlico. It pours deep amber with a minimal white head. The nose is toast, fruit cake, raisin, plum, light booze, earth, honey and toffee. The taste is toffee, caramel, fruit cake, oily, toast, honey, earth and toast with a dry, boozy finish. Full body, soft carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Pretty tasty, but a touch cloying.

2014-07-10. Crisp dark orange body near headless. 3+ Aroma is sweetly alcoholic and fruity. Flavour is similar, sweet malty core, pleasant fruit character, touch or what i want to call juniper probably isn’t. Smooth average plus to bodied palate, little carbonation. 3+ Nice, touch too alcoholic, some carbonation might help cut that a touch. Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival

Cask @ The Hanging Bat. Orange amber colour, decent head. Big barley aroma. Very sweet rice barley alcohol flavour. Sweet aftertaste. Better than I expected.

Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival 2014. Clear golden body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Aroma of toffee and lime. Flavour is very sweet - honey, syrup and an alcohol burn. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Far too sweet and cloying.

Very poor nose . Colour is a very light amber .rhe initial taste is good but strong taste of isopropanol . This indicates lot of sugar or poor quantity malt .rhe hop profile is dominated by strong alcohol and poor malt mix . Overall a pretty barley wine beer . Sorry to slang you . Generally I love highland beers.if you need to know a good barley wine try sierra Nevada Bigfoot .
