Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.

Appearance: pale and golden in colour.
Nose: rich fruity malt hints of yeast, with earthy, woody, hop with honey and alcohol notes.
Palate: generously malty with balanced spicy hop in the middle leading, to a lingering hop finish, with honeyed fruity malt and a hint of warming alcohol.
Summary: a stunning stronger ale in the true british fashion, with balanced flavours from maris otter malt and English hops added early and late in the copper. One to take great care with as it is so drinkable.

A lovely deep rich and fruity beer. Slight oilness. Perfect balance of sweet and hop bitterness. Easy to drink, brilliant beer. Very nice indeed.

500ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear gold, thick white long-lasting head. Aromas of greens apple and wood, light lemon citrus, light malt sweetness. Taste brings more sweetness, cleansing bitterness. Medium body, thin-to-creamy texture. Clean finish. Slips down a treat.

My third and final hand-pulled half-pint of Orkney brews in The Plough, Shifnal, during a CAMRA pub crawl on 14th Dec 13. This was by far the best of the three IMHO: the Dark Munro was fine, the IPA too citrusy for me. Pours a clear light golden colour with a full white cap. The aroma was semi-sweet, as was the taste: light malts seemed to give off caramel and butterscotch esters which also carried on into the taste. Nice feel to the whole thing: well balanced as the hop content rears up towards the end of each sip to equal out the sweetness. The alcohol is well hidden within the flavours and makes the beer far to easy to drink: I prefer slightly sweeter brews, so this suited me fine.

Real ale på akkurat. Inleder födelsedage med en bärntensfärgad härlig real ale. Engelsk humle i doften, lite gräsig. Även tydlig maltighet i doften.

Simply a very nice beer. A touch of malt to give it some sweetness, hoppy without being a hop-bomb. Strong without being stupid, just a nice good quality beer

Poured clear light amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt ad soft floral hops. Medium body, light honey sweetness, toasted malt, hint of dark fruit, some heavy citrus. Bitter sweet end.

Pours a honey gold with good head. Pine, wood, honey, and fruit coming from everything: yeast, hops and malt. Caramel and hop resins lay on the tongue so reminiscent of an american ipa, but definite british yeast and malt qualities coming thru. Full body.

Hazy amber beer with a sweet, hoppy scent. Flavour is mostly hop with a strong grapefruit taste and a touch of sweetness. Finish is sweet hop but with a dryness on the tongue. Very nice.
