Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.

Appearance: pale and golden in colour.
Nose: rich fruity malt hints of yeast, with earthy, woody, hop with honey and alcohol notes.
Palate: generously malty with balanced spicy hop in the middle leading, to a lingering hop finish, with honeyed fruity malt and a hint of warming alcohol.
Summary: a stunning stronger ale in the true british fashion, with balanced flavours from maris otter malt and English hops added early and late in the copper. One to take great care with as it is so drinkable.

An unbelievably drinkable stronger than average beer that just slips down. Good all year but hard to get hold of. Get it when you can.

Light amber with a thick, creamy head. Fruity mandarin orange and lemon flavor. Light floral aroma. Mild, but with a medium body and memorable character.

A lovely deep rich and fruity beer. Slight oilness. Perfect balance of sweet and hop bitterness. Easy to drink, brilliant beer. Very nice indeed.

Hazy amber beer with a sweet, hoppy scent. Flavour is mostly hop with a strong grapefruit taste and a touch of sweetness. Finish is sweet hop but with a dryness on the tongue. Very nice.

[500ml bottle, Cornelius Beer&Wine, Edinburgh] Clear golden colour. Deep toffee apple alcohol aromas, some wood, hops and sweetness. Malt forward on the palate, some raisin/pruneish flavours, before the sweet alcohol finish. Very complex, extremely well-balanced and dangerously drinkable at 6% [25012008]

Real ale på akkurat. Inleder födelsedage med en bärntensfärgad härlig real ale. Engelsk humle i doften, lite gräsig. Även tydlig maltighet i doften.

Bottled. Hazy glden, coarse head. Spicy fruity nose. Mid sweet with soft, dense mouthfeel and solidbody. Creamy buttery malt and some spicy bitterness. Mild, pleasant and gently warming.

[Cask from The Three Judges] Complex, malty, caramel notes, orange peel, rum, fruity esters, some spicey notes, some alcohol. Full bodied, sweet, tingle of alcohol warmth in the finish.

Bottle. Brilliant gold with a fine lacing lid. Same dank dishcloth, Feta and passion fruit aroma as the Orkney IPA I had last night. Fine bright hops in the mouth with a fibrous tang of citrus; Jaffa orange and pineapple. Well-rounded pale malt aftertaste with plenty of chaff, peanut and hints of smoke. Something clean cut and ringing about this I really like; imagine an oktoberfest made with US hops- no way are they all English. There is a metallic streak, but completely demolished by oranges. Orange-dented stainless steel. Squirted with fresh-squeezed orange juice. Not the slightest hint of alcohol. Cashews, oatmeal. Dangerous stuff. These boys really seem to know what they’re doing.
