3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at The Horseshoe in Hampstead, London on 1 July 2013.
Poured a slightly hazy light amber colour with a white head. Bready malts on the nose with some light hop aromas. Flavour is similarly more dominated by sweet and grainy malts, balanced by some fairly nice grassy hops. Palate faded out a little quick. Quite drinkable, but not the hoppy beer I was expecting.

Spicy, piny, citrusy hops dominate the flavour. A bit thin on the palate but an otherwise excellent IPA from a similarly excellent brewery.

Cask @ Kings Head Leicester. Golden colour. Fruity aroma, citrusy/ melony. Taste is slight tropical fruit kiwi almost strawberry. Slight peppery flavour. A little bit of hop bitterness, but you'd expect more from an IPA maybe? Nice enough.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in March 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale amber in colour with a thin creamy white head. Slight hint of lemony hops in the floral aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a slight digestive biscuit base and then fresh tart fruit notes flood in with gooseberry, kiwi and lime to the fore. Crisp hop resins impart a citric bite which combine well with the malt. Finish is crisp and dry with notes of marmalade and barley sugar. Dry pithy note in the mouth right at the end. A decent session bitter.
