Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.

Appearance: Pale and golden - but not too pale as to look like lager.
Nose: Lemony citrus hops with a hint of grapefruit and spicy, peppery goldings.
Palate: Full on hops – styrian goldings to the fore, goldings giving a balanced middle and finally the rich malty fullness of maris otter as a backbone. The finish is refreshing with hops that become dryer if the cask lasts long enough!
Summary: A modern IPA, not overly bitter but still nicely ‘hoppy’ and at 4.8%, just about a session IPA for a sensible night’s drinking. The hop profile is nothing short of stunning.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2014 Lemon nose. Not too bitter and good hoppy taste. Nice one. Pint poured golden but hazy which I felt took away from it a bit. Still will drink again. Good one. Second sample left to rest and looked much better. Re rated. Good strength

For context: I often drink west coast American IPAs and double IPAs. Pours golden with ample white head. Citrus aromas. Light citrus and hop flavors with a decent malt balance. This ale has a nice hop character but is less bitter and hoppy than what I usually expect. Somewhere between an American craft pale ale and an American craft IPA.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Faint carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of pineapple, grass, herbs and lemon. Flavour of lime, parsley and straw. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Tastes like a strong Golden Ale. Simple, restrained... and a bit boring.

Bottle at home. It pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is fresh, lemon, biscuit, toasty and lime. The taste is crisp, toasty, grain, lemon, grapefruit peel and peppery notes with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Balanced and rather drinkable. Solid.
