COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Winter. Also available bottled.
Appearance: Dark mahogany in colour with ruby highlights.
Nose: A lovely roasted grain aroma and some dark berry fruit.
Palate: After a slight tartness (always a good sign in a porter), coffee and chocolate dominate the palate, with a hint of smoke lending complexity. Nutty bitter chocolate pervades the persistent finish.

Pours very dark brown with small beige head. Not as opaque as you’d expect from an imperial porter. Aromas of coffee and sweet chocolate with hints of smoke, cherries and make. Bizzarely smells light bodied. Medium carbonation but might mouth feel for an impy porter. Taste of molasses, cherries and coffee. Finish is mildly bitter with a hint of smoke. Doesn’t taste or feel like a 9% stout. A bit disappointing but good considering the cheap price tag

Bottle. Pours dark brown, black with a decent, latte-colored head. Aroma is a lot of roast and coffee, some smoke, slight hoppiness, earthiness, slight peach. Taste is roast, some earthiness, peach, slight smoke. Fairly nice, slightly tart.

From the bottle poured into nosing glass. Pours pitch black with huge beige head. Nose is intense roasty slightly smokey. Taste is super roasty too. Some peatfire and an extremly creame velvet mouthfeel. And dry malty finish... Great!

330ml bottle. Almost black colour with a minimal tan head. Aroma of dark fruity malts, chocolatey and coffee notes, slight hint of smoke. Taste matches the aroma, dark fruity malt base, mildly bitter chocolate and coffee flavours, bit of alcohol too though not as much as I expected for 9%, can feel it in your throat slightly though. Oily texture. Actually a really nicely done porter.
