4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours dark brown with a good long-lasting tan head, tight bubbles. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, liquorice, cherries, touch of peat-smoke. Awesome. Taste delivers a roasty bitterness, light sweetness, and merest hint of boozy indulgence. Full bodied, creamy texture, long, long finish. Seriously good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2013 I try this beer in the house of ratebeer master chriso during his many wonders pre-GBBF tasting. For the event I travel to London in England, land of queens and Pippa where people drink many cups of tea and like eat the fish with french fries. This beer is dark brown like the skin of well-sunned sexy ladies. Very sweet flavor with much chocolate. Some earthy bitterness remind me of pretty ladies giving me no hanky, no panky. I enjoy this beer but I drink only small portion because in my presence were many other ratebeer men including big ticker Danish men. Thanks we had many other beers so altogether I made good boost. Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. Sugary bread on the nose, dark toast, chocolate. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with milk chocolate, rich bread, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat creamy. Sweet on the finish with dark chocolate, bread and light dirt. Good.

This is obviously a very nice stout but it is not to my taste. Very chocolately, very rich but not my sort of beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml bottle from Peckhams, Aberdeen (£3.35):
Strong with rich and alcohol laced aroma that is a combination of rich, dark malts and some dark chocolate with an almost red wine like smell following this. There is some raisin, cranberry and plums with a nice alcohol kick and perhaps some dates and figs too.
Dark ruby, almost pitch black with a pinky sized, bubbly, tan head that slowly reduces in size to a thick looking lacing. A nice appearance and a better head than I was expecting.
Boozy, warming alcohol taste to begin that is backed up with a lot of sweetness and darker fruits, notably it is the figs and plums that seem to come through the most here. There is also a very rich, dark, roasted malt taste and some sweet caramel malts and a hint of cherry.
Sweet & rich with a nice boozy feel to the beer and a smooth, full bodied mouthfeel. This one is probably these easiest going 9% beer you will find, the alcohol is noticeable but not overdone & the balance is good.
One of the best I have ever tried. Dangerously easy to drink, considering it is a 9% abv. it goes down an absolute treat. I could drink this one all night although the alcohol content tells me that might not be the best ideas.

Bottled 33cl. Suprisingly fruity nose (including banana). Medium bodied. This beer is definitely far from being great to my tastes.
