4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml bottle from Peckhams, Aberdeen (£3.35):
Strong with rich and alcohol laced aroma that is a combination of rich, dark malts and some dark chocolate with an almost red wine like smell following this. There is some raisin, cranberry and plums with a nice alcohol kick and perhaps some dates and figs too.
Dark ruby, almost pitch black with a pinky sized, bubbly, tan head that slowly reduces in size to a thick looking lacing. A nice appearance and a better head than I was expecting.
Boozy, warming alcohol taste to begin that is backed up with a lot of sweetness and darker fruits, notably it is the figs and plums that seem to come through the most here. There is also a very rich, dark, roasted malt taste and some sweet caramel malts and a hint of cherry.
Sweet & rich with a nice boozy feel to the beer and a smooth, full bodied mouthfeel. This one is probably these easiest going 9% beer you will find, the alcohol is noticeable but not overdone & the balance is good.
One of the best I have ever tried. Dangerously easy to drink, considering it is a 9% abv. it goes down an absolute treat. I could drink this one all night although the alcohol content tells me that might not be the best ideas.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 33cl. Suprisingly fruity nose (including banana). Medium bodied. This beer is definitely far from being great to my tastes.

2010 bottle. Dark brown almost black, nice one finger mocha head. Aroma: cacao, some malty sweetness, dark fruits, raisins, figs, sweet dark sugars, mocha, milk chocolate. Taste: nice sweet roasted note, lots of sweet dark fruits, some caramel, dark chocolate, a slightly tart cherry note, well blended flavours. A nice balanced beer!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. Vintage 2011. From bierzwerg.de.
Dark brown colour with red hue and small tan head.
Very strong aroma of dark fruits accompanied with strong Bock-y malty elements and mild vanilla notes.
Flavour is sweet dark fruits, Bock-like strong maltiness and some alcohol. Very smooth. Some vinous elements typical to Barley Wine. Maybe I grab the bottle too early as this is Barley Wine to me. Mild bitterness in aftertaste.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
33cl bottle. Almost black, thin head. Boozy, dark fruity, sweet aroma. Flavor is very sweet, barley wine style with berries and malt. Boozy. Did not find much roastyness or chocolate in it. Did not like this beer. Infected?

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Inially pours a big head. Very dark, very deep with a red cherry hue. Pretty big for a porter with a slight currants on cake quality. Mouthfeel gives the impression its been sliced from one full cream dar bitter block. Very well integrated, the 9% ABV is well hidden.
