COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Winter. Also available bottled.
Appearance: Dark mahogany in colour with ruby highlights.
Nose: A lovely roasted grain aroma and some dark berry fruit.
Palate: After a slight tartness (always a good sign in a porter), coffee and chocolate dominate the palate, with a hint of smoke lending complexity. Nutty bitter chocolate pervades the persistent finish.

Bottled 33cl. Suprisingly fruity nose (including banana). Medium bodied. This beer is definitely far from being great to my tastes.

Bottle at Helgi´s, Kirkwall. Pours clear dark ruby with a small creamy off-white head.Aroma of light roasted malts, with a light note of smoke and fruit. Taste is moderate sweet, weak roasty, and some complex dark fruity elements, light tarish as well, complex and tasty beer.

2014-07-10. Black body small frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet dark malt, very light roast and muted herbal accents. 7+ Flavour has rich sweet dark malt core, light bitterness in the finish balances it out. Very light herbal/licorice undertone. Smooth medium to full bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3++ Very nice. Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival

Aromat: ciemne i palone słody, czekolada, melanoidyny, ciemne owoce i nuta alkoholową. Smak: pełny, słodowy, jednak mało słodki, raczej nieco cierpki. Następnie kawa, czekolada gorzka, orzechy, spieczone ciasto i zdecydowana alkoholowość ogrzewająca przełyk.

Z butli palone słody, owoce leśne i alkohol. Piany brak w barwie ciemne z lekkimi rubinowymi przebłyskami, klarowne. Odrobina czekolady, ciałka jest trochę, lekko oleiste. Wysycenie wysokie, lekko kwaśny na końcu.

Vintage smudged on neck of bottle. Black with tan head. Drunk at 13°C as instructed. Mild caramel malts and toffee with little alcohol on the nose. Very well balanced taste with faint sourness. Smooth mouthfeel. Fairly full body. Overall quite satisfying.

Bottle from Auchan Market, Luxembourg City!
Starts with sweet caramelly malts, very roasty with some chocolate and coffee. Finish has lots of dark roasted malts and bitter coffee notes.

2011 Vintage. Pours a thin pale brown colour. Deep brown in the snifter, small white head lasts about 5 seconds. Aroma - cola, chocolate, faint booze and must. Body is medium, a touch of carbonation on the tongue, slightly foamy. Taste - some marmite, boozey, a nutty dryness. Decent. I’m not convinced that aging it any longer would help it.
