The_Captain (251), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle picked up in Cary-NC. Poured a nice amber with a simmering head and not much lacing. Pale with hops and malts that produces a caramel flavor to the pallet. Subtle easy drinking flavor, not above and beyond but a good refreshing beer.
timsilvia32 (116), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 11, 2008 Refreshing in scent and appearance. Nice floral boquet. Clean and crisp, not as bittingly bitter as some pales. Clean as a whistle. I’d almost consider this to be more like an Alt. This would be the beer to drink in the spring/summer, not the Shining Rock Lager, though that is good also. sallad (66), USA Jul 9, 2008 Clear golden with an orangish hue. Thick, pillowy eggshell head. Spicy citrus with notes of pine, toast and caramel aroma. Nicely balanced -- only mildly tilted towards bitter -- with some honey sweetness and grapefruit playfully zipping around through the finish. Easy drinking summer beer! Biddle_Brau (86), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jun 15, 2008 Golden color with thin white head. Basic American pale, good drinking beer with nice balance b/w malt and hops. Sampled at Stoudts 17th Annual Microfest: June 2008 The_Beer_God (2804), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with a tall white head. Nose is hoppy with light pine, some citrus, spices and soft malt. Taste is spicy hops, some pine, more citrus notes, light earthy notes, soft caramel, malts and fruit. Body is medium with above average carbonation. Bubbly but not too "burpy". Lingering bitterness throughout. Almost aspirin-like. Concludes with more hops - spicy, earthy and piney - citrus fruits, soft caramel, light malt sweetness and touches of fruit. pintocb (391), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 5, 2008 light copper in color. decent head retention.....not great. slightly hoppy smell. light body with clean malts up front followed with gentle bitterness. good APA
