COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust porter has a full body with some hints of chocolate from the chocolate malt and midnight wheat. The mild noble hop aroma showcases the roasty flavors and subtle fruit and spice notes of the artisan-roasted Fair Trade/Organic coffee of Black Mountain, NC’s Dynamite Roasting Co.

November 2012. From bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Coffee, chocolate, spice and roasted malt aromas. Coffee shows well throughout with the spice. Bitter hops on the finish.

Bought a 12-pack of this and almost forgot to rate it. Pours nearly black, just brown around the edges. Pours with a small head, but otherwise mostly flat. Nose is roasty coffee and cocoa nibs. Yum. Taste is a bit thin, as is the palate. Extra love for the cheap price tag.

Pitch black pour little bit of an orange hue with a thin off white head .... Aroma of bitter dark chocolate, mostly bitter dark roasted coffee, caramel malts ... Taste of dark bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, caramel malts and bitter hops .... Has a nice bitter hoppy bite on the backend very well represented on the roasted side that’s for sure .... Finish is dry and bitter ... Body is thin but this is definitely a nice coffee porter

12oz bottle poured into snifter. Wow! Amazing coffee aroma. Can’t remember the last beer I had that was overwhelmed with this much coffee aroma. Flavor is bitter with hints of dark chocolate and coffee bean. A real treat and surprise.

Sample at Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Pours dark brown with beige head. the aroma is Latin American coffee, ash, some raisin. The flavor is rich with coffee, but the coffee seems to lack freshness. There is also some raisin and ash and a bit of resiny hops.

Medium brown colored head of varying sized bubbles. Nice coffee and roasted malt aroma with some dark fruit and berries. Color is a very dark brown. Big coffee flavor up front that lasts the duration of the drink. Moderate bitterness from the coffee along with some ash, grainy malts and juniper berries. Mouthfeel is a bit watery. Finishes dry and bitter with a lingering coffee aftertaste. A little bit unbalanced but still decent.

Pours a jet black motor oil appearance with a dark mocha thin head. Aroma of stale coffee, chocolate and hop bitterness. Taste follows, I'm not loving the stale coffee taste. Really nice mouthfeel, I just wish it tasted better ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, near black with a thin tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and tons more coffee. Taste of intense roasted coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Medium/light body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

There is a medium hit of light and silky coffee on the nose but that is then replaced with pure, straight up milk chocolate. And that flavor dominates the rest of the 12oz. And I mean that in the best possible sense. The coffee flirts underneath and as it warms a bit more coffee ground bitterness does rear its head but primarily this is like hot chocolate and I liked it.
