COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust porter has a full body with some hints of chocolate from the chocolate malt and midnight wheat. The mild noble hop aroma showcases the roasty flavors and subtle fruit and spice notes of the artisan-roasted Fair Trade/Organic coffee of Black Mountain, NCís Dynamite Roasting Co.

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque brown-black with a light head cover, thin streaks of lace. Aroma is healthy earth, malt, and coffee. Taste matches the aroma: roasted malt, dark, moist earth, coffee, and dark toast are all present on a base of mild bittering. All moves smoothly to a lingering finish in which no additiopnal bittering is necessary. Very palatable, Iím having it tonight in front of TV and a fire with Triscuits and Havarti cheese. Itís a good night.

Black pour with a nice tan head that quickly fades. Aroma of coffee with a touch of lactose. Mmmm ... sweet flavor of chocolate covered espresso beans with a slight bitter finish. Thick mouthfeel with a tingly carbonation underneath. Another well crafted Highland brew.

Pitch black with very little head. Aroma contains some chocolate and coffee. Flavor is rather bitter with some coffee, dark chocolate, and licorice. Full bodied and bitter. Overall a good beer.

Great black pour with fading tan head. Nice roasty clean fresh coffee aroma, some vanilla. Flavor has more of the roast grounds bitterness and not as much balance. Meh. One of the better coffee beers out there, but Iím not a fan of coffee.

Bottle. Pours pretty much black, with faint ruby hints coming through when held to the light. Rocky, mocha-colored head that recedes to about 1/4 inch. Nose is very smooth, well-roasted coffee, a bit of dark bread, slight hop bite. Taste is lightly sugared coffee, big bitter chocolate, piney hop presence. Lingering finish. Glad Highland finally released a new brew. This is very nice.

Bottle courtesy of durhambeer!
Pours basically black with a small but well retained head that leaves small bits of lacing on the glass.

The beer has a nice roasty and fruity smell. The coffee is vibrant and pungent and not unlike walking into my dearest Zanzibarís Coffee house here in town while the roaster is doing her thing.

The flavor is roasty and bitter with a little bit of creamy sweetness. The beer isnít overly sweet but does have a little bit of ashy-ness.

The palate is a little bit think but the low carbonation serves the flavor perfectly.

Bottle pours black with a tan head. Big coffee scent with choclate and roasted malt. Taste is the same. Thin for a porter.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market North Raleigh, NC. Hey Highland, if youíre listening, please send more of your seasonals to Virginia! This one pours a very dark brown color with a large frothy tan head. Average head retention. Aroma of big coffee notes, some ash, roasted malts and caramel. The taste is strong roasty coffee notes, roasted malts, faint sweet malts and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. A little over-bearing on the coffee but still solid.
