Dark full body porter. Black patent malt and subtle hints of dark chocolate. Wonderful nose with hints of beech smoke, and a refreshing finish.

Bizarre.

Pours dark and smooth and good creamy beige head. Aroma is nutty a little chocolate. Taste is mild, smoke is even milder.

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours very dark reddish black with a small tan head that quickly fades. Nose is vanilla and coffee and a hint of smoke. Quite sweet chocolate start with some dark fruit, vanilla and caramel. Smoke is quite subtle and blends well. Medium full slick mouth with soft carbonation. Nice and restrained compared to some smoked porters.

This porter poured a deep dark amber colour with a rocky, tan coloured head. Scents include smoke, roasted malts and cereal. First swig was delicious with flavours of smoke, dark caramel, a hint of cocoa and grassy hops. Low carbonation and a thick mouthfeel. Finish is sweet with lasting flavours of smoke and sweet syrup.

Single big bottle from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with some red highlights. The big head is creamy, beige, very long lasting and has creamy-patchy lacing. The smokey roasted malts are present in the aromas, but not as strong as most smoked beers. Kind of more nutty with slight dark fruits. Same for the taste, with the nut notes coming from the yeast, making the flavours yeasty over the smokiness. Not bad, but lacking smokey malts and a little too much yeast.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours black with a off-white head. Aroma of oats, toast, and light smoke. Smooth taste of oats and grains, cream, toasty, with a ligh metallic dry finish. Pretty nice.

Bottle from the LCBO. Very dark brown with a small tan head. Nice aroma of dark malt, chocolate, vanilla and a subtle smokiness. Flavour follows aroma quite closely, with the addition of a bit of licorice. Medium-full body with a good creamy character. A nice porter, but would like a bit more smoke to really lift it.

Recent bottle from LCBO, 500 ml shared with Doug K. Very good smoked. The aroma, the taste, well balanced and creamy mouthfeel.

Pretty light porter. Smoked taste is a little sharp and unbalanced. The rest of the palate comes off light. Thick consistency with a light caramelized sweet malt at end. Soft carbonation. Pours black with good lasting head and lacing. Bottle from lcbo.

[Draught at Mugshot Tavern.] Pours a deep amber-brown with an average size lasting frothy beige head. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, coffee, some chocolate, dark fruit and a hint of hops. No smoke to be found though. Flavour of toasted malt, some coffee, light smoke, a hint of vanilla, light lactic notes and roasty, lightly bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good Porter though not smoked enough for me.
