The beer pours a crystal clear light gold colour with a smallish white cap that lasts a while. The aroma is sweet malt, grass, a metallic tang, and some spruce. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with average carbonation. Flavour is very grainy, with a little bit of spiciness. As with a previous rater, not tasting any spruce here.

Bottle, medium golden body average white head. Husky, lightly toasty pale malt with earthy undertones. No sign of any coniferousness at all. Where’s the spruce?

650ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body, small white head with average retention. Aroma of grains, hay, caramel, bread, apple jam. Taste mild bitter herbal hops, malt sweetness, spruce and grapefruit zest. Average.

3 finger head stays a moment then some leves n laces. sweet malt, citrus, grassy minty smell. Some sips are on the dry side with a citrus hop taste sweet malt and a little spruce taste. Some sips earthy and citrusy bitterness and some warmth in the chest. A couple sips were on the orange side and really refreashing but over all a dry beer with hop bitterness and a little spruce taste. Some of it I don;t like, some is so/so.

650ml brown bottle. Gold pour with a fat white head. Thick foamy lacing. Nose has some sweet grains, caramel and bread. Taste has caramel malts, light toast, mild hop note. A little bit herbal in the aftertaste, quite grassy, dryish. Overall this is a decent pale ale type beer, but the spruce notes aren’t coming across as strongly as I’d hoped. Drinkable enough but could have been more interesting.

650ml bottle pours a golden color with a small white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with light fruits and grains with a slight spruce presence. Taste is malty sweet with a light herbal hop bitterness with maybe a hint of spruce in the finish. A decent brew for the style, but could be a little more bold.

Blonde doré. Très Sucré. Très subtile pour l'épinette. Malté. Très fine anertume. La bière est simple mais sans défaut et manque d'épinette.

Metalchopz (2372) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 25, 2013
Bomber from the LCBO and second brew from this brewer here. Pours a very slight hazed, golden colour with tiny particles running through it. Beautiful frothy white head, great retention and loads of thick bubbly lace. Aromas are a mix of herbal notes with some grainy malts and slight sweetness. Mild dry mouthfeel with a little grassy bitterness. Cereal malts lingers lightly. A nice twist on the IPA easy-drinking style, but do not feel the spruce.

Cloudy golden colour with an off-white head that goes quick. Sweet aroma possibly a light spruce aroma. Flavour is a little sweet a delicate sweetness takes over but it dissipates into a tonic water aftertaste. Body is light not very piny if you want a piny beer... but why should I pine about that.
