Cask at The George IV, Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 This pumpclip wasn’t very clear which led to me asking barman about this beer, I was assured that this was a Highwood brewery beer from Linc’s but unsure whther it should go under the Highwood name or Tom Wood. This pub (the third on our little expeditionary trip) was the first let down, it seemed to open when it wanted and was a little tatty and grubby with quite below average beer quality. The beer poured hazy amber with a white soft head, served too cold which I think was the reason for the haze as after a while it warmed up and started clearing reasonably well. This was an ok malty fruity beer but quite forgetful, condition could have been better and I will look out for this again and re-rate at some point.
