9/I/2012 33cl bottle from Smetje en Zoon (Nevele) @ home - BB: 5/V/13 (2012-18)

Pretty clear rust brown beer, big creamy yellowish head, adhesive and stable. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, bit fruity, some spices, nutty. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet in the start, some caramel, spices, touch of sourness, cloves, some red berries, bitter, cinnamon. Aftertaste: spices, bitterness, bit medicinal, fruity, oranges.

bottle, very dark amber coloured with medium stable white head. Nice lacing beer. Strange style, is this ’brown ale’ ? I don’t know. Smell some industrial cheap, candy sugar, passion fruit. Taste: very fruity, some malty notes and nice hops. A bit heavy beer, may be a bit unbalanced but very special one and one of the nicest bottles ever!

Bright red-amber beer with a small beige head; medium carbonation. Very caramelly nose, with notes of parsley; bit of human sweat, coloured malts. Good dark malts returning in the mouth, and bitterish-bready(crust), without burnt, nor overly sweet notes - good balance. Dry hopping obviously worked, without conferring unwanted IPA-touches. Warming up, some less flavoursome oxydized malt notes. Medium bodied, slick, even refreshing despite the caramel overtones. Another one that is better than the sum of its parts.

(Bottled) Very hazy red-amber with a largeish, tanned head with some lace. Toffee-caramely aroma with strawberries and some flowery hops. Toffeeish, somewhat acidic and mildly ashy-dryish flavor. Medium-bodied, quite foamy-carbonated palate. Not very clean or balanced, although decently drinkable. Label says it’s dry-hopped, but can’t find much hops here.

Bottle 33 cl, found at Schotte. Red brown color, white head. Medium body. Sweet aroma. Malty and sweet. Little dry. Not bad. Years ago this beer was maded by Riva (Now i like this more - taste is better .)
