A Spanish Bock, or an Amber Lager, or a Vienna Lager. Whatever it is, it is very refreshing and tasty.

330ml bottle from Waitrose. Light golden amber, clear and somewhat thin-looking with a bit of white head. Metallic corn aroma with a bit of musty malt. Taste is reasonably sweet and spicy. The tangy bitterness in the finish turns astringent. Corn syrup aftertaste. Decent but not over-the-top carbonation hides the weak body. The high-ish ABV makes this uninteresting beer slightly more drinkable.

It’s a neat beer. Rich in malt and well balanced. The aroma is of toasted malts and has a soft ending.

Bottle. Clear amber body, no head. Aroma is malty. Taste has grainy sweetness upfront, light earthy bitterness. Body is full, medium carbonation.

A very beautiful foaming beer from the Spanish. Smells really good hops, malt and also good floral aroma. In the taste revealed until a gentle caramel malt, then a light floral feeling and a good solid hoppy aftertaste. Certainly a Vienna with its great richness is above all tasty, but also very well balanced. I had not exactly expected a beer so good from these parts of Europe, but good surprises are always welcome. Maybe a little too much alcohol in the taste, but it is a minor thing compared to the otherwise good things. Semi-dry aftertaste.

Pours a clear amber color, topped with a small and non-lasting off-white head. Mild, almost non-existant aroma. Some hints of grass and caramel, but hardly. Sweet, malty with some caramel presence, gentle. Mild bitterness in the finish. A bit grassy. Nothing unpleasant, very light and watery, but no real taste or aroma. Drinkable, but why...

Clear amber with a small white head. Malty, sweet aroma. Flavor is malty, with a charateristic bitterness. Nothing special but drinkable.

At Cafe Baba Reeba. Oh it was OK. Slightly sweet and malty but didn’t really have much going on. Serving: Bottle
