A Spanish Bock, or an Amber Lager, or a Vienna Lager. Whatever it is, it is very refreshing and tasty.

AMber color with decent foam. Lager smell, but well done, sweter and more consistent. Taste is of a good lager, citric ending and honey and nuts in mouth.

Pours a very clear strong golden with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is skunk-like for the first few sniffs but transforms into bready cereals after that. Some alcoholic notes here and there. Light corn impressions. Taste is of sweet caramel, cereals and is lightly bitter. Some alcohol again. Lager fruitiness. Clean enough but that isn’t saying much. Moderate body, medium carbonation. A boring caramel-driven lager with no real problems.

Bottle (330 ml) bought at an SAQ store. Clear orangey-golden with a small white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is grainy and quite corn/sweet forward. There’s also mild herbalness and a white grapes impression. Taste is moderately sweet with a bit of an honeyed presence, but also unfortunate sweet corn impression, herbal notes and a bit of alcohol. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Grainy finish with lingering sweetness. A bit of alcohol heat. It might be horrible because of the travel but it’s at least mediocre at start to end up as bad. Unbalanced, too sweet and the corn impression is unpleasant. Down the drain...

330ml bottle from Jumbo Costanera Center as "Hijos de Rivera 1906 Reserva Especial". Pours a clear copper color with a medium off-white frothy head that disappears quickly and leaves an irregular lacing. Aroma is malty, grainy and nutty. Clear notes of cereal grains, corn, almonds, walnuts and some roasted sugars. Not strongly caramelly by all means, and hops are not present at all. Taste is well balanced with some restrained sweetness, and some low nutty bitterness. Nice flavors of nuts, toasted bread, a bit of red apples. It has some nice attack but ends up a bit watery. Some alcohol presence is felt. Overcarbonated unfortunately. It stings. Almost medium bodied. A correct, even enjoyable Vienna with a few flaws.

Bottle - 330ml. Light amber, limpid body with heavy carbonation and an average, fading, white frothy/bubbly head. Bland malty/hoppy aroma with corny, sweet, and grassy hints. Its fair malty/hoppy taste carries herbal, sweet, and some woody notes. Alcohol is noticeable. Ends with a short bittersweet, metallic finish. Drinkable, at the most.

Buena cerveza, de calidad y a buen precio. Regusto amargo fuerte y sabor profundo que dura. Una cerveza de gran calidad

Lore (1931) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 30, 2016
perfect appearance of dark golden colour and large, long lasting, creamy, slightly yellowish head; aroma and taste of...well, in fact, a cheap lager: cardboard, metallic notes, some grains and grassy-vegetable notes, maybe some butter, too...based on its appearance I expected much more...

Pours a clear amber topped by a coarse fluffy white head showing good retention and lacing properties. Subtle macro-carbonation. The nose is sweet roasted malts and faint herbal hops. Some nice nutiness in the nose, like almond butter. The taste is sweet and nutty with the roasted malts at the center stage. No real hoppy features in the taste, but I did get some herbal flavors off the lingering finish. Interesting oiliness through that medium body. Well crafted. Cheers!

Dentro de las industriales es una buena cerveza. Toques maltosos, color ámbar, sin referencias a lúpulos pero de buen sabor.
