3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A Spanish Bock, or an Amber Lager, or a Vienna Lager. Whatever it is, it is very refreshing and tasty.

Very nice strong beer. Sweet maltiness. Superior to many of the other common beers served in common bars in Spain.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a golden slightly unclear beer with a good white head. Smells malts, sweet and artificial. Tastes the same. Not good. Average carbo, thin body and a watery texture.

Heldere gouden kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt nergens naar. Smaakt zoetig, amandelen, kruiden.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (grain, husks, malt syrup), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of cement.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation.
Plain and husky and industrial, but drinkable in a pinch (like when you’re in Cozumel and have few better options outside of Argentinian/Chilean wine).

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Amber brown with a large foam. Aromas are cereal and brown sugar with cream. Toffee apple with grain and some chemical notes. Flavours are sweet sticky toffee and Weetabix with brown sugar. Verges on cloying with bready yeast and that chemical character coming through on the finish. Quite peppery alcohol. Not for me.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Treacley sweet. 1906 is not as good as Voll Damm, another strong Spanish lager drink. It is too sweet. Nice enough mind, it beats an average UK ale any day. I think I’d stick to a Belgian classic in its place. So so.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Waitrose. Sweet, slushing, sugar puff lager, with honey brown colouring and treacley throat coat. Approaching sickly. Not offensive, just a bit too anti-tooth.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 11.2oz ($2.25): Pours light amber with a small white head. Light caramel and lager smell. Metallic lagerish taste. Somewhat sweet. Plenty of caramel. Not impressive.
