Cask at the Standing Order, Edinburgh, 20-03-09 on the Craig Crawl Pours mid amber with a white head. Lacks much in the aroma stakes save from some malt. Taste is caramel bit of citrus. Decent enough but not terribly exciting, quite tangy and fruity. A5 A3 F6 P3 OV12

Cask in the moon underwater and the new crown. This cask pissed me off bigtime as it exploded everywhere and we lost like 3 gallons of the stuff. Alround rating: Caramel nutty malts, appley toffee hints, lightly tart yeastyness. Not a hottie.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Hazed amber with slight white head. Thin sweetish, malty beer with little happening on the flavour front. No off notes or problems just pretty dull.

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow. Went in for this beer on St. Patrick’s night looking forward to a cheap session, it being advertised for £1.29 a pint. Unfortunately it was not on sale as the barrel had not cleared. I went in today and found it on sale for the standard guest ale price of £1.89.. I felt rather pissed off that the staff refused to honour the previous days advertised price, even though I offered to put the difference in the charity tin.. I only had one pint for the scoop on principle though the beer was rather morish. Dark amber with an off white head.. A well balanced bitter with buiscuty malt, a hint of caramel and some fruity notes followed by a dry restrained english hoppy finish.

A Mes rate: cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Semi hazy copper colour with a reasonable off white head. Good chunky and fruity malt with an assertive earthy note and maybe a hint if leather. Good caramel hints but not too sweet. Nice delicate bitterness in the finish. A little straight forward but a rather tasty brew. Certainly the best I’ve had from Hilden.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Amber with a dense cream head; creamy texture but thin body, earthy malt flavours; moderately bitter finish. Not very exciting.
