COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abner (1867-1953) is our great grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his fourteen children.  In his honor, this Double IPA is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Abner’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and double dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, bursting with notes of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Abner.  8.2%, 18.5º P, 170 Theoretical ibus. Ingredients: Pale and Caramel Malt; Dextrose; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Growler courtesy of my Hill Farmstead pusher - Leighton! Cheers Ears! Hazy amber - gold beer with a tidy off white head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Mild minerals. A little creamy malt. Really nice hops, tastes like Cascade (but I see has everything but!). Light floral notes and tangerine and lemon bring up the rear. All comes together very well indeed. Finishes light and crisp. Very nice!

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured cloudy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy spruce sour citrus hop aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Very good brew.

Growler… Hazy orange ale with a small, pillowy, off-white head. Decent retention. The nose presents a fruity, earthy medley of peach, grapefruit, caramel and tea biscuit bonded by slighter, more ambiguous notes of musk and cat piss. Medium-bodied with a relatively thin mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The hoppy flavor is bitter, but even more savory – fruity peach and grapefruit layered atop cereal grains, earthiness and pine. Crisp, medium bitter, dry finish with lingering fruitiness. Growler courtesy of the ever-generous Maltzilla!
