3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle generously provided by Gonzoillini. Thank you Tony, I’ve been interested in trying this for a very long time. Pours a cloudy brownish orange in color with very little head on the pour. I wanted to note that the bottle foamed out of the neck after opening, so keep an eye when opening. Nose is interesting and I don’t know if I exactly like it. There is honey, white wine, hops, and some band aid characteristics. Not bad, but it’s peculiar. Taste is better, it’s more focused on the white wine and lemon characters. There is some grassiness to it, it is faintly hoppy and somewhat saison-like. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is light to non-existent, gentle acidity, and a short to moderate finish. It’s one of the better Biere de gardes I’ve had, but probably not the best. Still really thankful to try it, thanks again Tony!

750mL bottle, sent from 22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours an opaque dark orange amber with big white head. Aroma brings out lots of wood, wild yeast, and light tart tannins. Flavour brings out exceedingly complex notes of brett upfront, followed by wood, earthy notes, and more wild notes. This stuff is amazingly complex - no sourness at all, but lots of wild, funky notes. Remarkable depth to this beer. Awesome stuff.

750ml bottle in a tasting glass. 2011 version. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of a nice tartness, light oak, some floral notes, light fruits, and caramel and pale malts. Flavor a great blend of the tartness and everything else. Smooth texture. Really good.

Bottle from International Trade; reddy brown pour with soapy tan head, fruity aroma, sweet honey taste, raisins, sour and the trademark HF funk going on excellent beer, best I’ve had of this style.

3k rating. pours unclear burgundy with a small light beige cap, little retention and lacing. juicy and spicy concoction - red grapes, marmelade, peaches, red fruitiness, some sweetness, tannic but welcomed woodsy notes, caramel and toffee, pepper, coconut, tart and dry palate - bretts, aceto and lactic notes. low carbonation, medium body - oily, sweet, astringent bitter tea and slightly chalky finish. outstanding..

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Thanks to czar for the opportunity, congrats on 3K too! Pours a hazy copper with no head and thus no lacing. Aroma is really fruity, with peaches and tangerines being the main culprits. Taste is also really fruity with peaches at the front and lightly tart. Some sweetness in there too enhancing the fruit juice feel of this concoction. Carbonation was kinda low but it doesn’t detract you from the awesomeness. Some grapes and a winey feel. Medium body, insane drinkability. Awesome!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours clear and amber with a soft carbonation that leaves a sticky ring that hugs my glass. The aroma is of sweet malts, yeast, light spice, oak, mild vinegar, and fruit notes. I taste oak, yeast, cherries, tropical citrus tones, and a mild vinegar flavor. The finish was of yeast, fruits, and a tart character. Overall a very good beverage.
