Bottle shared in NH, and a huge thanks to Wallace for sharing this very special beer. Pours cloudy, orange-gold with a soft, creamy head. Lots of funk in the aroma, some tart, citric fruit hints. Medium sweet flavor, great funk character, some oak notes. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Quite dry to finish with assertive funk, mild tart citrus impressions, some subtle doughy malts, and a quenching dryness. Wonderful beer. Quite a lot of nuance in this one.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours murky and orange with a small, creamy, white head. The woody, funky, acidic nose furnishes oak and fresh fuzzy fruits and tropical fruits. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is tart, fruity and bready. Finishes tangy, accompanied by a mild yeasty bitterness. Many thanks go out to landhoney for popping the top on this world class Bière de Garde! Not too many world class Bière de Gardes in circulation. Of course, this isn’t really a straight-up Bière de Garde.

Burned orange pour, a light fluffy head. Wonderful yeasty qualities jump out of the glass, some rich fresh oaky notes, a bit of unripe stone fruit, bready malts. Flavor is so light on the tongue, I get the oak, some great lively yeast. So flavorful. So wonderful. Wow.

Bottle @ Armin’s apartment, courtesy of Steve_0. Thanks so much! Pours a very hazy red orange appearance with a tan head. Really a tangy, spritzy, orange citrusy, barnyard, somewhat oaky, cherry, somewhat tart aroma. Somewhat vinous, big grape, cherry, bretty, funky, spicy yeasty flavor. Not what I would have thought from the world’s best Biere de Garde but it is DAMN GOOD!

My Bottom Line :
White wine, citric tartness and lean cereals meld in this salutary rural quencher.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the hazy pale amber.
-Cereal contribution is long and engaging.
-Citric tartness is higher than the usual Hill Farmstead Saison’s.
-Even though this was excellent, I would say full flavor cohesion had not been reached yet. Had I had another bottle, I would have kept a few more months at least.
-The big, prickly bubbles could have been a tad softer, if I have to nitpick.

750mL #196 red wax thanks to oteyj. Glowing, rustic, full murky pour with huge head formation and rocky, yellowish lace. Excellent. Nose is excellent nectar fruits, huge juicy peach with hints of rusty earth than dissipate. Peaches and cream abound with whipped cream sweetness. Taste is Hawaiian sweet rolls, rich grain, mild butter, sharp lactic tanginess, bleu cheese funk, lemon zest, key like pie. Palate is excellent. Extremely quenching with mild sweet roll and sweet funky cheese rind. Mouth watering brine. Way easier to drink than Mimosa. Could chug a pitcher of this so fast which makes me think saison is still the style or perhaps sour/wild since the lactic sourness is much more pronounced than the subtle, doughy character of their saison anthology. Easy 5/5 for palate.

Bottle number 10/300 shared at the HF Harvest Fest by either Ernesto or Lushawn, or Lushawn’s lady, whoever it was that won this at the raffle. Pours a hazed orange gold with a thin white head. Sweet musk, soft floral yeast with a light touch of alcohol. Phenols, spicy yeast and musk. Medium bodied, tropical fruit, warm yeast. Acid, light funk, a touch of acid and toast. Citrus, musk, acid, floral toast. Long musk, toast, soft acid. Musk, long but very gentle acid, a touch of plum to it. Faint funk lingers for a while. Beautiful.
