Growler muled by oteyj, thanks! Cloudy golden color, huge fluffy white head. Intense pine aroma. Taste is very bitter pine resin and bread. Too bitter for my taste.

Growler... Murky golden ale with both small and fat bubbles. Good retention. The aroma is dominated by dank, musky, armpit-like hops with an undercurrent of pale malt. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor offers a bounty of citrusy, tannic bitterness with a pale malt backbone and a subtle bready component. Finishes lightly sweet, then bitter and dry. Big-time kudos to biggsbowler for making it possible for me to finally try the fourth and final beer in this Cigar City/Grassroots/Hill Farmstead collaboration.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of citrus, floral hops, pineapples, and just all around nice hoppiness. Tastes of the same nice hoppiness with the alcohol content hidden. Lighter caramel.

Enjoyed on tap at the Black Back pub. Cloudy grapefruit coloured body. Apparently with rice and Brett. A good mouthfeel. Lots of orange taste. Very smooth drinker.

750mL growler/flip-top thanks to oteyj. Pours a cloudy orange sherbet with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Decent lace. Nose is thick jackfruit, durian, vanilla, orange sorbet. Feels a lot like HFS Harlan but not as aggressive or tropical melon heavy. Taste is very meaty with big vanilla booziness, salty, bitter orange peel and grapefruit pith. Not nearly as nice as the Harlan. Very aggressive, boozy, richer. Big orange juice character. In the right direction for style, but slightly too sticky and white sugary fruits. Big boozy character.

Draft at Capone’s. Poured turbid gold with white head and a lot of carbonation. Nose was intense resiny hops, tropical citrus, including tangerine, pineapple, and quite a bit of funk. Tasted rich, extremely complex, with big flavors of tropical citrus fruit, piney hops, some funk, and a very complex finish. This one is delicious.

A Sim rate (on tap at Lord Hobo): Piney, spicy aroma. Bit citric. Bitter, butter and citrus flavour that really packs a punch. Nice stuff but a bit too over the top on the IBUs.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Lord Hobo prior to EBF and NOTB. Pours an opaquely hazed golden amber, with a soft small white head. Big bright citrus on the nose, sweet and slightly resinous and dank. Lemony and grassy. Medium bodied, sweet citrus, thick with earthy citrus and big pithy grapefruit. Long grapefruit filled finish, sticky and lingering. Nicely balanced.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In short: A highly aromatic, sharp and refreshing fruity blonde IIPA. Excellent and too easy to drink
How: Tap at Hill Farmstead brewery.
The look: Cloudy yellow-blonde body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose is bursting with tropical fruits and some citrus fruits. I suspect many of those new recent breed of hops that generate those powerful tropical fruit esters and also probably some Citra because I noted some cat urine too. Taste has the typical blonde IPA malt backbone that provides a solid body but with a bready and crackery character that leaves all dance floor for the hops. Plenty of fruitiness with bitter grapefruits, bright citrus fruits, various tropical fruits, even some bananas. Also lemongrass. Bitterness is sharp and there are citric undertones in the finish. Very refreshing and dangerously easy to drink for a 9% beer. Excellent beer. So far Hill Farmstead and Cigar City collaborations have been named ‘Or’, ‘Neither’ and ‘Nor’, I find those synonyms and antonyms very confusing and I can’t understand why the antonym for antonym is synonym but the synonym for synonym is not antonym. It’s stuff like that that keep me up at night.

Bottle pour thanks to Levi! Pour is hazy yellow orange with nice white head, fresh and sticky to the glass. Aroma brings notes of big dank fresh hops, resinous notes, some pine, lemon, orange, hints of biscuit, really nice aroma. Taste is really nice resinous and piney hops, some nice lemony oils, hints of grass, touch of cracker biscuit, hints of sweet orange oils at the end not terribly bitter. Nicely done.
