COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Civil Disobedience, our non-violent protest against the homogenization of flavor, comes in the form of a spontaneous, circumstantial, and unpredictable series of beer releases. We relinquish control in favor of an anarchistic collaboration of microbial activity. This is the expression of our conscience, our opposition to oppression, and an act of creative freedom. Civil Disobedience (1849), Henry David Thoreau’s moral call to action, is a perennial challenge against the contemporary sopor of individual political conscience... "It is not too soon for honest men to rebel and revolutionize." Question. Act. Evolve... Civil Disobedience #1: A blend of two different batches of Arthur and a bit of a beer called ’mimosa’, a saison brewed with orange zest and brett clausenii. All stainless. Not barrel aged.

Bottle shared at Woodshop 6. Pours with a very hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aromas of light funk, grassy, grainy, estery. Quite floral and estery with some fruit notes that I can’t exactly tell if they are hop based or yeast based. A hint of cheerio/cereal flavor. Flavors are estery, grassy, floral, grainy and hoppy. Some pineapple notes. Light bubbles, dry. A bit minerally.

Lightly cloudy yellowish pour with a light head. Nice yeast and tropical fruit aromas. I get some fruit coctail, fragrant hops and a light dusting of a pepper note. Flavor is tropical, soft on the tongue, yeasty, a bit of wheat, dry and juicy at the same time. How do they do it!?

Bottle at THE Sour and Saison Tasting, London. Another contribution from LKS. Pours hazy, shiney gold, effervescent, with a lively, white foam head. Great funk in the nose with suggestions of fruits (citrus, lime) and socks. Light to medium sweet flavor with some dough, bread, big brett funk, mellow bitter grass, wet blanket. Light to medium bodied with high, lively carbonation. Bit more sweetness to finish, with rich white bread, cleansing dryness, socks, dough, very modest grass. Quite wonderfully balanced and delicious.

My Bottom Line :
This gorgeous Saison’s prolific hop and yeast union delivers oranges, herbs, pepper and pine needles, all in a dry and fluffy mouthfeel enlightened by tartness.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-Light banana esters are a perfect match for the citrusy hops, orange zest, and brett clausenii.
-This is very drinkable.
-The hop bitterness is mostly herbal and a bit spicy.
-How could this be less than excellent? It’s Arthur!.

Bottle.

A: The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a tall white head. S: Very complex aromas here. Lots of floral hops with tons of citrus notes to it as well. Grapefruit, orange peel, and lemon zest are all there, as is a bit of pepper and some sweet fruits. Light bready malt and yeast in the background. T: There is a bit more fruity sweetness to the flavor. Lots of pear and sweet apple to go with the lemon and orange zest. White pepper notes along with some yeast and grass with just a hint of bready malt sweetness. M: Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. O: A very solid saison. Great flavors and a pleasure to drink.
