3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle... consumed as a group trying all three CD... big head, tons of foam, lasting, good looking beer... lots of musky floral notes, a bit sour, light spice to it... more sweet than I thought it would be, floral, light orange peel, crushable solid saison

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle in an HF tulip. Pours hazy golden with a big, lacy, white head. Aroma of a lot of Brett and light funkiness/tartness, some pale and light caramel malts, some light citrus, and light fruits/spices. Flavor a really cool blend with a lot of Brett. Average HF light saison texture. A cool beer that Iím glad I got to try.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a beer Iíve been trying to track down for a while. I met a Ratebeerian in California who wanted to share some beers. He gave me a choice between a 2001 3F Oude Gueuze or a Civil Disobedience #1. I chose this because Iím a weirdo. While the Gueuze may have held up better, this was a real treat!
A - Insanely cloudy but most of these traveling beers are. Although, the hint of Mimosa may have led to this being a bit cloudier. More of a dark yellow, fluffy head and huge carbonation. Not a gusher just a lot of carb on each pour which is a very welcome thing.
S - Smells like Vanilla and Cream Soda with a tiny bit of wet cardboard and ropy leather. Nice grassy notes but clearly showing its age.
T - Taste was good and improved as it warm dup throughout the evening. Taste is loaded with a ton of funk and Brett and really hearty ropey leather. Finish is nice. Slightly cheesy and bitter orange peel and spice at the finish. Cardboard and funk lingers
M - Great mouthfeel, full bodied lemon meringue texture.
O - This beer was probably excellent a year ago but a Summer 2011 beer may not have just fallen off but who knows how well it was stored and how many hands it changed over the years. Still, it was great to try this. Thanks CheepBeerBuzz for sharing!

Small format bottle poured into a Hill Farmstead wine glass. Pours a translucent copper with a thin white head of foam. Fruity, yeasty, a little herbal. Mildly tart and acidic. Finishes dry and acidic.

pour is clear yellow, bubbles flowing throughout, pure white head. Nose has fair bit of Saison, light pepper, hints of citrus and maybe a faint touch of barrel. Taste is similar, Saison yeast and light pepper, a bit sweeter, citric and lemon with a bit of malt showing. Still rather dry and highly carbonated. Not as bright as Ann, a bit less deep and a touch sweet in the finish but still extremely drinkable with gentle barrel integration.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light hay pour, eggshell white head. Nose is bright citrus rind, dry white wine barrel, slight eggy sulfuric note. Mouth is saison yeast, light biscuit, less barrel than expressed in the nose. Lemon rind, Belgoan yeast, grass, black pepper. Barrel influence is minimal, more of a pleasant Dupont like saison than something you would really ponder over. Nice.

THE Sour and Saison tasting. Again thanks to our Hill Farmstead pusher - Leighton - for another rare HF beer. Hazy gold beer with big off white head. Light milky nose. Light airy palate with minerally carbonation. Super mild citrus, mild brett. Airy finish. Itís all a bit ephemeral and reminds me of some of the early HF Saisons that were nothing special.

Bottle shared by starrdogg. Thanks Matt.
Served along side Hill Farmstead Art, Arthur, Flora, and McKenzie Irma Extra.
The beer is hazy and yellowish orange in color with a thick white head that leaves some nice lacing on the snifter. The aroma brings some wine, brett, oak, funk. Good flavor, with brett and oak notes. Well balanced and tasty. Medium bodied and smooth. Really nice mouthfeel. Overall, a solid beer. I would have this again.

Bottle @ THE Sour and Saison Tasting. Cheers to Leighton for bringing this. The pourís deep gold with a massive white head. The nose is light attic dust, some cork, wood and mild summer fruit salad. Plenty of tangerine and peach. Mild brett funk. The taste is light yeast, brett. Orange and tangerine fruit salad. Dusty, earthy flavors. The bodyís light and zippy, the carbonation active on the palate. Overall, a very nice saison. This was a bit of a comedown after trying Ann, but what wouldnít be?

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at THE Sour and Saison Tasting, London. Another contribution from LKS. Pours hazy, shiney gold, effervescent, with a lively, white foam head. Great funk in the nose with suggestions of fruits (citrus, lime) and socks. Light to medium sweet flavor with some dough, bread, big brett funk, mellow bitter grass, wet blanket. Light to medium bodied with high, lively carbonation. Bit more sweetness to finish, with rich white bread, cleansing dryness, socks, dough, very modest grass. Quite wonderfully balanced and delicious.
