375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out notes of soap, farmhouse notes, floral notes, and citrus. Flavour brings out lots of citrus, soapy floral notes, and light oak. Doesn’t linger very long on the palate. Not the most complex of the series, but certainly quite dynamic and lovely.

Bottle thanks to Luk. Hazy gold pour with nice frothy white head. Aroma is slightly winey, nice and bright juicy aromas, very citrusy, nice hoppiness, lemongrass. Tastes amazing, ever so slight tartness with a great juicy fruity character. Palate is med-light bodied with thin carbonation. The awesomeness HF has gotten us used to.

Stine (1642) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 28, 2014
Dirty blonde, hazed fully, with a clinging skin of white. A familiar nose of pineapple, gruyere rind, animal fur and gravel; one could mistake this for less confronting lambic varietal. Tropical fruit acids and champagne vinegar serve to blurry these boundaries. The depths are deep, with acidic soil and earth, dirty lemon rinds, watermelon rind, and cheesy bacterial spreading out.

Blood orange tartness is the first flavor I find, with all the farmish, funky and acidic stuff layering in quickly like water finds the cracks. Minerals and herbs are everywhere in this funky haze and trying to locate and name them is like looking at the stars. The sometimes herbal-green and often rocky-gray of their disposition is a powerful contrast against the long acidity and punchy fruit flavor that is the basic canvas. As is often the case, I wonder how much the well water content influences the flavor.

Texturally, this is surprisingly watery, which amplifies the overt acidity a bit. Carbonation is distant. Lingering phenolic action in adhesive tape and fruit skin rubber, and some cheese rind. While this is eminently satisfying to the senses from front to back, the palate issues are difficult to explain. It feels slightly worn out, though it is less than five months old. This is probably a misperception on my part, and more time couldn’t hurt.
