Clara (1906-1969) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Grisette is crafted from American malted barley, Vermont Organic Wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Clara. 4% ALC/VOL 9ş P Ingredients: Pale Malt, Organic Vermont Wheat, American and European Hops, Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Light frothy, fast fading off white head, golden light hazy colour. Notes of wet wheat/cereal, fresh green apple and pear aromas develop; subtle and well concipated. Light lively with a light slick texture slowl developping and light body. Acidity is well kept in check by some sweetness and bitterness forming the backbone of this beer. Light dry finish.

Bottle: Liquid gold color; bright & breaming with 100% opacity. Soapy, slushy white head builds up quickly, then breaks itself down just as fast. Mild splotchy lacing. Smells like a farm at sunrise. Notes of grass, heavy must, lemon-lime zest, a touch of funky cheese, damp barnyard, faint spicy yeast esters, vibrant breadiness, & a hint of light citrus spritz. Smells so refreshing, dry, & well put together. A touch of tartness nips the tongue with each sip; hints of lemon zest, citrus, & faint stone fruit. Lightly leafy & grass laden hops, just outside the floral realm. Mid-palate shows a touch of musty hay funk, driftwood, damp cheesecloth, & notes of a dusty, damp barnyard floor. Finishing with touches of lemon zest, apple skin, & a dry snap of the yeast. Tight like a tiger. Lovely at only 4% ABV, a great table beer. Would love to dome this juice year round.
