Clara (1906-1969) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Grisette is crafted from American malted barley, Vermont Organic Wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Clara. 4% ALC/VOL 9º P Ingredients: Pale Malt, Organic Vermont Wheat, American and European Hops, Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

The pour reveals a cloudy yellow color with a thick, white head. The aroma is quite yeasty, with spices, hops and wheat, it’s very appealing. The flavor is well-balanced, there’s hops, yeast, wheat and somes spicyness. The body is medium with a creamy, slightly oily texture and lively carbonation. This is really good, it’s a Hill Farmstead beer, after all!

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a frothy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of yeast and a dairy farm. Medium sour and lightly bitter, flavors of citrus, most notably lemon, light body, average carbonation, thin texture and a long lightly bitter finish.

(retrieved from 08/2013 Midwest jpg backlog, CHI tasting - big bottle courtesy of CHI tasting crew, thx). Dry and fluffy lemon-forward grisette in the best of sessionable traditions: lactic wheat components deliver great gentle tartness, dry yeast without too much brett at work on palpably quality pale malt, clean body, a crisp finish with a late citric rind hop zing leaves you eager for another sip/bottle/or, in the case of our CHI police crew: to jump back in your van for another 1000-mile haul to VT...

[5280-20130427] 750mL bottle. Plasticky yeast grass aroma. Clear, pale orange body with a medium-lasting foamy head. Sour yeast and lemon hops flavour. Medium body is pretty sour. Tasty, drinkable, very nicely balanced. (7/4/8/4/17). 4.0

750ml bottle (6/13 dated, 8 months in the bottle) pours semi-clear pale golden straw with 2 finger head. Nose is earthy yeast, citrus, straw, lime. Taste is crisp bright tart citrus, peach, orange, hay, subtle yeasty fruit, hints of dry grain and wheat. Finish is soft mild fruity tartness with juciy peach, orange, lime. Incredibly easy to drink. Fantastic.

Pour is pale golden amber with a slight haze and a tight white head. Nose is juicy pineapple and mango with a strong balance of floral Aromas. Taste is juicy, light resin, tropical fruits with more floral flavors. Faint grain, notes of salt, well carbonated light body, very dry and clean.

Bottle, poured into a tulip. Pours light yellow with a lot of white foam that takes a long time to fade. Aromas of grass, lemon zest and green apples. Taste is green apples, lemon peel and a touch of funk. Very light body, almost like a Berliner weisse. Very drinkable. Really nice beer.
