4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
In short: An highly aromatic fantastic blonde IPA. Wicked.
How: Growler consumed fresh a few hours after purchase
The look: Cloudy blonde Topped by a small white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: The highly aromatic nose is an explosion of leafy resinous hops, wet grass. Body has a solid neutral malt backbone that tastes like a fresh baguette, leaving all the room for the hops. Lots and lots of juicy grassy hops, notes of lemongrass, fresh pine tree. Bitterness level is pretty high but hop profile makes for a very refreshing bitterness, very tasty but not too aggressive. Hops resin in the after taste that makes for a very long finish with feeling sticky. Iím starting to think that I may prefer HF single IPAs over their Double IPAs. You realize how good a beer is when you drink a full growler and with a cellar the size of mine, all you can think is wishing you had another growler of the same beer. Another kickass IPA from HF. Iíve come to realize that my life is just not the same anymore since the opening of Hill Farmstead 2 years ago, most notable difference is how often Iím now late for work.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to stardom and raveskdr for muling me a pile of a growlers back from VT recently. Shared this one with Jean.
Pours a clouded golden amber, with an airy, well carbonated white head that fades to a thin ring of bubbles and wispy lace. Aroma is grapefruit up front with a piney finish and some light caramel malt throughout. Smooth, slightly thin medium body with light carbonation and a dry, crisp, pine finish. Columbus hops dominate the flavor with a resiny grapefruit and tropical citrus flavor throughout with a little more pine in the end. Not much to complain about here.

Growler courtesy of Dany during a long night of delicious drinkery after TAPNY. Pours a lightly hazed amber gold with a thin white head. Spicy hops, long bitterness. Citrus and malt, a good amount of hops. Long bitterness on the finish.

Growler sample via and shared with oakbluff. Pale orange in colour with moderate carbonation. Huge earthy, herbal, cut grass, pine and pink grapefruit rind aromas. A bit floral in the mouth, but the powerful white grapefruit cut grass take over the palate. Faint pale malt flavours show up on the finish. Drying bitterness. Super hoppy and super refreshing.

750ml... poured a rich burnt orange color with big aromas of earthy tea and spice. I find the Columbus hop much less astringent than other varieties and was excited to see HFS brewing this one hop wonder. The flavors are hoppy with a nice bitterness but there is this heavy black tea earthy quality the mingles nicely with the round malty notes of the base pale ale. Very enjoyable especially for a spring hopper !

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml shared by Kan. Thanks, dude! Pours a rich golden orange hue, fiery glow with gentle haze. Frothy bright white head dies to firm ring, laces ok overall. Lingers ok. Aromas are healthy touches of grapefruit and florals, lemons and oranges. Some sweeter pale malts, bread. Catty elements start to take hold, firm bitterness on the nose. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, offering firm grapefruit and lemons, florals and grass. Not too bitter, but flavor hops roll. Pale malts, bread, and some floral essence. Touches of cat essence, some dryness, moving into fruit, bread. Sweeter backend, but not overly so. Mellow drinkable beer with a Columbus-centric nose and front end. Nice, solid.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery in Greensboro, VT. Pours a cloudy golden orange colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is fresh and dank citruses with big florals, earth, pines, a touch of tropical fruit, and some juicy resins. A light pale bready malt backing allows the hops to shine. Flavor is similar. Dank earths and pine resins up front with fresh florals and juicy citruses. A light tropical fruit with some resins and a light pale bready malt backing. Finishes dry with lots of resiny grapefruits and fresh, dank hops with a higher bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth and soft, medium body and a gentle, moderate carbonation. Overall, a really nice single hop pale ale. Lots of fresh dank citruses and a firm bitterness with a very soft body. Highly enjoyable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My Bottom Line:
This American Pale Aleís puffy natural carbonation propels earthy hop resins and marijuana variations in a seemingly three-dimensional bouquet which also shares juicy oranges and endless rejoicing.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sizeable head of foam settles atop the cloudy pale amber.
-Natural carbonation, as in all Hill Farmstead brews, does wonders to the otherwise slender mouthfeel.
-Malts offer support, but this is an otherwise hop-driven vehicle.
-This may not be as complex as their Edward, but itís pretty much the same highly engaging brew otherwise.
-This was a gorgeous pairing with a masala curry with shrimp and mango.
On tap at the brewery, and a growler back home.

Great surprise on receiving this growler from my friend Robert. Color is somewhat cloudy gold orange with perfect carbonation. Talk about dank , grassy , herbal on the nose wow.Super explosive hoppy aromas. Flavors are similar with some additional light citrus and very balanced malt character. Medium in body and hard to know this is so low on the abv. Nice and dry on the finish with a long biter finish. Great beer and very cool way to experience the Columbus in all its glory.
