Bottled 05/2013: "Imperial Stout aged in Port & Bourbon barrels Damon (1993-2004). The time spent with loved ones, no lost, seems to affect our mind and body perpetually: memories happen upon us, unsuspectingly, and bring about tears and fond remembrance. Damon was our brother - devout and patient in an age of busyness and distraction. In his honor, we crafted and conditioned this Imperial Stout in both Bourbon and Port Barrels for more than 2 years. We still reflect, daily, upon our Damon and his scruffy chin of grey - of his loyalty and his love. Share. Consider. Enjoy.

Damon trio. Thanks to ygtbsm94 for providing this awesome bottle. The beer is dark brown with a faint hint of a brown collar. The aroma offers port, chocolate, red wine, oak. Delicious flavor. Complex and refined. Fantastic beer. Nearly absent carbonation, soft on the palate. A delightful beer to sip. What a treat.

From notes. Drank next to bourbon Damon. Pour is black with chestnut reddish head. Nose has more bourbon and wood than bourbon Damon. More fudge and rich chocolate with a hint of astringency and some roasted malt behind. Taste is a bit sweeter and less bourbon notes. Fudgy malt with brown sugar and caramel, a bit sweet in the finish. Full bodied and softer carbonation with a lightly dry finish.

375 ml bottle shared by ygtbsm94, thanks Brad! Opened alongside Bourbon & Port Damon. Pours a nearly black with nearly no head. Aroma is wood, roast, and a sweet caramel note. Flavor is solid and delicious - oak, chocolate, rounded out bourbon. This is the best of the 3 Damon variants.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2014 Opened alongside Bourbon & Port Damon. Pours nearly zero head/lace; minimal (if any) carb. Luscious aroma of barrels, roasty stout base, toffee. Decadent and silky on the palate. Flavors melt into each other, blending with caramelized sugars and rich bourbon. Soft bite from the booze massages as it descends. DBD is clearly superior to the other Damon variants.

Complex blend of berry jam, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, espresso, and dry oak. Extremely smooth, light vinous character, rich, full bodied. Long port and bourbon finish with moderate booziness.

Pitch black pour, very little head. Soft carbonation. Bourbon, roast, anise aroma. Barrel extremely well integrated as the bourbon and port is there but not overpowering. Anise, big roast, black coffee, vinuous, dark fruits. Incredibly smooth drinker, booze very well hidden. Thick full body, oily mouthfeel. What better way to end fathers day?

Bottle generously cracked by Al , pours flat black with pretty much no head and def no lacing. Aroma is grapes, barrel, fig, caramel, cheese. Flavor is Sticky dark fruit and banana pudding. Other notes of bourbon, wood, licorice and raspberry. A decent bit of booze and warming effect. Good drank.

38cl, no mention of ABV, new exclusive American brew Anno 2013, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex Stout, roasted/alcoholic/sweet and slightly fruity/vinous, not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, very good brew

Bottle opened at GTMW ticket line, first bottle cracked of the morning at 4:45 am, pours black with a thin light brown head and subtle lacing, the aroma was of chocolate and roast with a hint of dark fruit mixed in as well, very subtle bourbon and vanilla made its way in, the flavor has a roasty front end with some vanilla and sweetness in the finish, again a little bit of dark fruit shows through, smooth mouthfeel, personally I enjoyed the regular Damon more, but this is a treat.

Bottles kindly shared by Tom 10101 & JHuxley during our epic CMLSG cellar tasting - all 3 versions put next to each other. All of them have an incredibly nice balance between sweetness and roastiness which is unparallelled vs. other American BA RIS’s, which make them all great beers. - Damon: 3.9/5: subtle vanilla and cocoa in the aromas - Damon PBA;: 4.2/5: my favourite: more depth and complexity. Nose reveils cigars, leather, red fruits. Taste is roasty with a nice vinious touch of raisins. - Damon DBA 4/5: despite the fact that it is the most balanced in the nose, I think the taste is a tad bland.
