4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Mr Smith’s HF-dominated wedding celebration. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich, decadent, big espresso coffee vibe, dark chocolate, rich roast, mild acidity and coffee cake. The taste is rich, yet smooth, deep roast coffee, mild acidity, dark chocolate torte, light vanilla, toasty dark bread and a touch of umami with a smooth, roasty finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Not crazy complex, yet flavoursome and extremely well-balanced. Excellent.

Bottle from cpetrone-thanks, Chris! About 15 months on this, maybe a bit too long, but still drinking great. Dark black, medium high body, dark coffee crema colored foam on edges of the glass. Big dark roast coffee nose, light vanilla, dark roast malts. Very smooth, burnt malts, and quality dark coffee, with some vanilla like notes to balance it out.
