Earl (1911-1985) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Stout is crafted from American malted barley, Flaked Oats, English roasted malts, American hops, Organic Guatemalan Coffee, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. A silhouette of coffee and malt - an embodiment of complexity and drinkability, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Earl. 7.2% ALC/VOL 18º P Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

This is stout heaven. Creamy chocolate and coffee perfection. Beautiful aroma and smooth taste. Vermont knows how to do it right. Best beer, coffee, and food imaginable. I’m in pure bliss.

Black pour with a full beautiful dark brown head. The aroma is intoxicating. Amazing notes of dark, roasted malt, cocoa, and loads of espresso. Some light soy, some smoke, and burnt brown sugar. The body is silky and luscious, the carb is soft and luxurious. The finish is medium bitter, loads of bitter espresso. Sweet and bitter cocoa, and touches of warming alcohol. Incredible stout. World class.

Tap @ Hotel Vermont. Wow now this is what I’m talking about. I’m in stout heaven here with notes of coffee, chocolate, barley, and pure bliss. Slam dunk and wish there was a way I could high jack the keg to bring home.

Huge fan of this beer. Had on tap and in growlers. Deep brown/black color with a medium sized, tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is nicely roasted malts, coffee, caramel, and light chocolate. Medium body with highly complex, mature flavors of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa and the perfect touch of hops. Pleasantly reminiscent of Mikkeller Beer Geek or the Olbutikken Porter, this is a staple beer in my fridge the last few months.

THIS BEER IS STUPID GOOD. Pours a black body with a tan roast y head. A bitter roasted malt chocolate body. A hint of a vanilla sweetness to balance but never sweet. Just a really solid drinking stout. 3 pints later i forgot about my 6 hour drive. Nice to see a brewer that can make an awesome ipa, saison, & stout. Seriously underated.

From notes. This was shared at a tasting put on by @mikem409 on November 7. The pour on this thing is a nice oily black with a medium tan head and some gorgeous lace. The aroma is heavy in coffee. There is a bit of roasted malt, good cocoa notes, a strong dark fruit presence (prune or cherry) and a light smokey vanilla on the far back. The flavor is just as great. There is a ton of coffee but the rest of the flavors break through as it moves through the mouth. The mouth feel is creamy and viscous with a good medium carbonation that helps it coat really well. The aftertaste is definitely roasty and dry with some good cocoa and coffee Lightly bitter. Love it!

Amazing. A lot of roasted, toasted, coffee, dough, chocolate, a bit toffee aromas. Taste is medium bitter, lovely coffee , all very well balanced. Average carbo, quite creamy medium bodied and nice coffee finish. Truely the best coffee stout i ever drank.

Bottle from SlovakSniper (thanks!), shared with Parksy, phantomhennes, and TvM. We had this alongside Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, and this brew was the clear standout, sperior in balance, complexity, mouthfeel, and simple tastiness. by far the most elegant coffee beer I’ve ever had.

Growler from Glouglouburp- thanks again Dany! Pours opaque cola with frothy two finger head. Huge delicious coffee nose, slight chocolate, but mostly just unbelievable coffee. Taste- a juicy tart twang from the oatmeal, slight bitterness, and tons of fresh roasted coffee . Fantastic. Drinkability is off the charts. Very light bodied but yet the flavour profile is amazing and the freshness of the coffee really shiines through. HF really nailed this
