Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children.  In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.  13.5ºP, 85 ibus, 5.2% abv. Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a small head. Aroma of fresh herbs, floral notes and citrus. Flavour is rather refreshing with strong bitterness, citrus, pale malts and orange pith. Medium bodied and a lingering bitter, bone-dry finish. I want more.

Growler from kfarrell7, thanks. Dark yellow body with a large foamy white head. Lots of tropical fruit like pineapple, sweet mango, hops, light malt. Flavour is sweet tropical fruit, hops, some citric notes. Nice lacings. Again Hill Farmstead blows me away.

Whatup14 (724) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - APR 21, 2014
UPDATED: APR 30, 2014 Growler 750ml.
