COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children.  In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.  13.5ºP, 85 ibus, 5.2% abv. Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Nose is hoppy and grass-like. Pours amber / orange with a small white head. Taste has some grass-like qualities of hops and hay. Palate is thin, though the taste really sticks to the tongue. Overall a good beer, although on a night with a lot of solid beers, this one, unfortunately, falls short of the rest.

humlelala (1031) - DENMARK - OCT 11, 2014
On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Pours a cloudy amber with a relatively thin, off-white head yet with heavy lace and film. To my unsophisticated nose the aroma is somewhat underwhelming or subdued yielding mostly hoppy notes of citrus and soda pop. Mikkeller glass makes it impossible at first to swirl the beer to test regeneration. Subsequent investigations reveal however a reasonable propensity for head regeneration, which also reveal more herbal and spruce aroma notes. Oily texture, medium carbonation, medium to light body and a subtle, lingering finish with aroma notes. Flavour is supremely balanced and far too easily drinkable almost to pay attention to the individual flavour components. Kinda blows your mind. Flavour is citrusy at first proceeding into a rather bitter experience on the palate that mostly fades on a dry note with not a lot of residual sweetness left to wash it away. Very very pleasant and drinkable even if the aroma is a bit too subtle to my brutish olfactory organ.

Amazingly floral grapefruit nose, followed by a pine resin on the finish. Mouthfilling flavor and texture, while remaining crisp and refreshing. The bitterness builds up by the end of the glass, and the florals disappear. The standardbearer for American pale ales.

Marsiblursi (3021) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 30, 2014
(Bottle) Pours hazy golden to orange with an off-white head. The aroma holds pine, apricots and citrus alongside some pineapple and flowers. Tight malt. The flavour is dry, medium to heavily bitter and tiny acidic with citric and piney notes alongside cracker-like malt. Touch of dry caramel. The mouthfeel is tight and clean with medium carbonation. Lovely take-on on a classic apa. Light bodied.
