COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children.  In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.  13.5ºP, 85 ibus, 5.2% abv. Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Perfect , this is what a pale ale should taste like. Balanced and delicious. I don’t need to be nerdy about it. If you can get it, drink it enjoy it and shut Your mouth

(Bottle) Pours hazy golden to orange with an off-white head. The aroma holds pine, apricots and citrus alongside some pineapple and flowers. Tight malt. The flavour is dry, medium to heavily bitter and tiny acidic with citric and piney notes alongside cracker-like malt. Touch of dry caramel. The mouthfeel is tight and clean with medium carbonation. Lovely take-on on a classic apa. Light bodied.

Flip-top received in trade. Thank you! Pours hazy golden with a frothy white head that leaves some sticky trace and lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is dank, tiny fruity, grassy and slightly herbal with crackers, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, pine needles, chives, lemon balm, orange zest and lemon zest. Taste is very tiny sweet, bitter, grassy and slightly herbal with crackers, caramel, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, pine needles, lemon balm, orange zest and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter and dank with crackers, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, pine needles, lemon balm, chives, orange zest and lemon zest. Very dank, very refreshing and perfectly balanced APA.

On tap at the brewery on 21. June 2014. Standing two hours in line. Big thank you to Russel for his patience and driving. Unclear yellow golden in the glass. Everything what you expect from a Hill Framstead beer was in this sample. Floral hopy, fruity, malt, yeast, complex and full body. Maybe a little bit scratchy.

Cloudy orange. This beer has a much more "dank" flavor to it. Hops were heavier on the palate and the finish was not as clean. Pine resin and bitter fruits are not quite as balanced as I would like, but then again, who am I to judge. It’s still a very good beer.

Pours a hazy bright golden with white head. Hop resin, funk, citrus and pine on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little sweetness.
