COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children.  In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.  13.5ºP, 85 ibus, 5.2% abv. Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

A Mes rate. Tap at Lord Hobo.
Ugly as a tired old slapper who hasn’t put her teeth in. Milky, dirty yellow brown with just a wisp of white head. I feel bad marking it down for something that really shouldnt matter but all i can do is be honest. Thankfully, once this little gem reaches the olfactories, it’s nothing short of sublime. Perfectly spiritely, bright and floral and aromatic. It’s a real feast for the senses. It has an earthy Nelson Sauvin on rye character about it. Just a lick of resin, perfect bitterness and the yeast sings like an angel all the way through. Epic citric notes, orange and tangerine all over the place. Balance, poise, finesse, it’s got the lot. Other than the looks... Shit the bed.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured an amber (deeper Golden) color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and pine. Tastes of citrus, caramel, and pine. I would definitely say this one is an IPA!

A hazed blonde ale with a thick dark brown head. In aroma, a beautiful resinous hops, floral, clover field, wonderful. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt with smooth floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth! On tap at the brewery, March 12, 2012.

Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is also very hoppy. A little bit of soft sweet carame and some light toffee. Citrusy malt character. Bright and a little bit chewy. Softly hoppy but not overly chewy. A little bit of soft hoppiness. Good balance - quite hoppy and earthy. Another very solid pale ale. Again, more IPA than APA, but it’s less hoppy than the Harlan.

On tap at the Gingerman NYC. Rating 6000. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are super hoppy, with tropical fruit, tangerine, grapefruit, lightly dank with a light caramel malt character. Very clean. Maybe some Centennial in the hop bill? Flavors are bready, biscuity, dry, bitter, orange, tangerine. Really hoppy and dry. Very well made in a West Coast style. Lively, dry and bright. Hoppy and fresh, very solid!
