COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children.  In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well.  It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped.  Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.  13.5ºP, 85 ibus, 5.2% abv. Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2011 Draft with Pat at Blind Tiger for the Hill Farmstead event. Pours a hazy orange amber body with nice white lacing. Aroma is fresh pine hop. Mouthfeel is delicious with great notes of pine, spicy yeast, slight malty notes, and a great combo of hops.

From the growler, from the source, to the mouth in macboost’s car. Had a taster @ Hill Farmstead so i know it looks good in the glass. Citrus hop overload on the nose...which is good. Mango, orange, citrusy hop forward, little malt, and slightly bitter, on the palate. Great beer, would definitely recommend to others.

On tap at three penny. Pours orange, some haze, white head leaves a large lacing trail. Full of citrus, namely in the form of oranges.ample bitterness on top of light malt sweetness. Light body.

Three Penny Taproom, Montpellier, VT, draft. May be the best tasting beer I've ever had. Definite apricots. Color of apricots, too. Very cloudy, and beautifully so. Fizzy head. Aroma isn't strong. Mouthfeel a little fizzy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Couleur dorée avec un beau col blanc mousseux. Aromes de fruits tropicaux, agrumes, un peu de résine, un petit coté herbacé que j’aime un peu moins. Une bonne Pale Ale mais qui est moins dans mes cordes.

Draft. Glowing orange with little head. Aroma doesn’t propel much but gives off some sweet malt and peach noted. Taste adds tea leaves, light citrus and pine. Very delicate mouthfeel. Excellent.

Growler: Thanks, Alex. Cloudy, dense, basically opaque sunburst & burnt orange color with a soapy, sudsy eggshell head that foams up nicely & leaves lots of sticky wet webs of lacing all along the glass. Lovely aroma of wet pine, grapefruit peel, under-ripe pineapple, bitter tangerine, herbal grass, faint hints of green onion, & an underlying tropical essence, maybe a bit of mango or even passion fruit. Lightly dank & oily. Flavor is more pine heavy with lots of alpha hop oil, resin, & sticky wet grass. Dry cracker malts, dough, bitter citrus peel, pineapple, grapefruit pith... Bitter without being abrasive. Not sweet at all. Pretty light on the palate, crisp & dry in the finish. Crazy drinkability. Could slam this indefinitely.
