In short: A dangerously drinkable citrusy blond Double IPA.
How: Tap at the brewery during the Harvest Festival 2012 VIP event.
The look: Cloudy blond-orange body topped by a persistent small whit head.
In long: Nose is dominated by the Society & Solitude #5 citrus fruits with only hints of the Ephraim. Taste shows a bit more of the Ephraim but I suspect this blend was at least 2 part S&S5 for one part Ephraim is not more. Those two beers work harmoniously together. Ephraim added a complexity to the citrus oriented S&S5. Excellent blend, I preferred it over the S&S5 but I prefer a straight up Ephraim. An exclusivity pouring at the Hill Farmstead Harvest Festival 2012 VIP night, a fantastic beer event I went to unaccompanied because the idea of drinking beer non-stop for two days in the middle of countryside field with no bathrooms didn’t sound like fun to my wife, so clearly it is true that opposites attracts.

Tap at the Hill Farmstead Harvest Festival VIP event, VT. Pours rich, hazy orange with a moderate, white foam head. Tons of dank, resinous hops in the nose, lots of ripe citrus. Medium to big sweet flavor with ripe and juicy citrus fruits, grapefruit, orange. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warm and sticky to finish, with lasting grapefruit and orange. Ballsy stuff and very delicious.

On tap at the VIP session at the 2012 Hill Farmstead Harvest Festival. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft musk, big tropical fruit, melon. Medium bodied, big spicy hops right away, mellows out into tropical fruit, sweet mango, warm melon. Musk, warm alcohol peeking through, smooth throughout. Long musk, light grapefruit. Gentle bitterness. The alcohol is noticeable, but never distracting. Ended up grabbing a taco from Mad Taco who supplied the food for the VIP event, and this beer plus the spicy sauce and a heaping pile of cilantro on the taco was absolutely sublime.

Blend on tap at Harvest Fest VIP event. Pale pour with white head. Aroma of wet hop juice, I think both these beers blend and combine their respective qualities very well. Society brings the fruity grapefruit aspect of the hops while Ephraim brings the dank, piney/oniony side of things to the table. Taste is brutally bitter but good. A very nice mix.

Blend on tap for Harvest Fest VIP. Pours a hazed orangish gold one finger frothy head. Smell is lemon, lime, & grapefruity hops. Taste is soft and citrus forward - like the nose, but has a very hoppy finish. Other notes include melon, fresh squeezed orange, lemon, grapefruit with zest while it ends in a bitter hoppy fruit rind finish. This was my favorite beer of the VIP HF beers. I didn’t have any expectations, but the combination of the citrus and bitter hops with a strong, sweet, malty base really took me by surprise. Please make this again.

One of one 30L keg blended for the Friday night party at the ’12 Harvest Festival. Ephraim meets Society and Solitude #5. Pours like most HF IPAs, hazed golden orange color with a dense white head. Aroma has an intense punch of dank grapefruit, orange and mango juicy bitterness. Flavor is similar with a pulpy, resinous citrus finish. Mild acidity throughout and a strong malt presence thanks to Ephraim. Drank like a more refreshing, "sessionable" Ephraim, but was probably my least favorite of the three blends Friday night.

On tap at the Hill Farmstead Harvest fest vip event. Deep orange haze with a medium white head. Extremely resinous and nearly syrup with great orange/ grapefruit citrus and nice acidity. Citrus peel and dank resin in the finish. Very full palate with rich sweet caramel malt, finishing about as dry as a beer of this plato possibly can. Very nice.
