COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett. 7.5% ALC/VOL 21º P Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Review from notes taken at Cigar City Brewing taproom on 7/15/12. Poured on draft into a Cigar City shaker pint glass. Appearance: Pours a dark brown, almost black with a 1/2 finger light tan head. Decent lacing. Smell: Roasted coffee, chocolate, toasted malt and white bread crust. Taste: Milk chocolate, roasted malt and coffee throughout. Aftertaste is bitter coffee with a touch of sweet chocolate. Extremely well-balanced. Excellent flavor. Mouthfeel: Medium-to-full-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Drinkability: Excellent drinkability. I could drink this all day. Overall: Excellent beer overall. Maybe the best porter (it’s really close to a milk stout in my opinion) I’ve ever had. It’s extremely well-balanced and smooth. I’d recommend trying this one if you get a chance. I hope I’m lucky enough to get some bottles of Everett at some point.

On tap at Hill Farmstead tap takeover, Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade October 10th. Pours black with a low tan head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, roasted nuts and some brown sugar. Just fantastic on the nose - it all is exceptionally well integrated. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, nuts, honey, slight vanilla and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is silky smooth with low carbonation. Hands down the best porter I’ve had by far.

humlelala (1012) - DENMARK - OCT 11, 2014
(on tap @ Mikkeller Viktoriagade) Pours pitch black with medium, toffee head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Decent regeneration. Aroma is nicely smoothly roasted with notes of coffee and chocolate and a hint of smoke. Very smooth. Creamy texture, medium body, medium carbonation and a lingering, mildly sweet finish. Flavour has some ascerbicity from the roasting but it is complemented nicely by a carefully moderated residual sweetness that never gets cloying. A well balanced and quite drinkable porter.

"This robust porter had a little age on it, and was sweet-leaning in the aroma, and the flavor. Complex mix of malted chocolate, roast, and dark fruits. Great medium-full bodied feel without any alcohol heat. Nice bittersweet finish."
