Clear dark black color with a large, creamy, good to excellent lacing, fully lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate malt, chocolate, cacao, moderate to heavy hoppy, straw. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration, chocolate, dark malt, coffee. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy andsmooth, carbonation is soft. Harmoniously, very smooth and easy to drink beer .. good work .. lovely ;O) [20110114]

Entered to celebrate my rating number 19,600. Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of chocolate combined with medium notes of roasted malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, grain, chocolate, and straw as well as lighter notes of coffee, hops, and flowers, leading to a dry roasted finish. Nice body.

On tap. Pours an opaque deep black with a creamy light brown head. A pleasant rostiness in the nose, fairly chocolatey. Medium body, very soft almost creamy mouthfeel, sweet hard roasted malts, vanilla and licorice. Discreet bitterness. Extremely smooth and drinkable. 190211

From tap at MikkellerBar. Pours pitch black with a creamy, dense and chocolate brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malt and vague tarish. Lingering dark roasted malty, liqourice, dark chocolate and distinct bitter hoppy. Thick liqourice, chocolate and citrusy hoppy flavoured. Mixed sweet liqourice and bitter hoppy finish. Lasting dark roasted malty impression.

My first beer from this hyped brewery. Dark opaque color, small steady brown head. Chocolaty, dry roasted aroma. Full-bodied. Very roasted, some tobacco. Light bitterness in the finish. Very robust.

Growler, thanks peregrinari. Black body with brown edges, atop medium tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee, grapefruit/orange, some roast. Taste is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, orange/grapefruit, coffee. Medium body, some stickiness. Nice rich flavors -- when cold, they don’t seem to work very well together, but they do quite nicely when the beer gets closer to room temperature.
