COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett. 7.5% ALC/VOL 21º P Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2013 My beer of the year 2011. Bottle. Thick dark brown beer with a brown head. Big roasted malt nose. Lots of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Tastes like a rich hand made chocolate pudding. You can almost feel the chocolate bits in your teeth. A rich delicious beer. And it has alcohol too! Every sip tastes better and better.

Best porter I’ve ever had. Perfect smokey taste. The chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors blend together perfectly. Hill Farmstead may be in the middle of nowhere VT but if you like porters its worth the drive.

This is the best Porter I have ever had. Smooth, rich without being heavy, sweet but not cloyingly so. One of my favorite beers.caramel, coffee, roasty, chocolate, dough, black, brown foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, long finish,

this is an amazing porter easily the best i have had. It has a tan head and lacing that coats the glass nicely. the smell is of roasted coffee, earthy, roasted malt. the mouthfeel is smooth like silk, very full bodied, it coats your mouth. very good!

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2012 My Bottom Line:
Raisins, molasses and dark chocolate thrive in this sumptuous Robust Porter, effortlessly moving into a levelled bitterness of resinous hops and roasted malts. I cannot imagine a better Robust Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the brown-edged black, lacing nicely.
-The mouthfeel is chewy, crunchy and nourishing, yet lets itself be drunk easily.
-Caramel sweetness and resinous hop bitterness are well balanced in the finish.
-The malt flavors are truly tantalizing. This is as complex as it is satisfying for dark beer lovers. They also linger languorously in the finish. Wow.

Many bottles (weeee!!) and on tap at Hill Farmstead and at the Siboire.

Growler poured into my Hill Farmstead glass... Pours a dark brown, almost black with a nice medium tan head. Good carbonation, retention is nice, no lacing... Aroma is outstanding, the epitome of what a porter should smell like, perfect coffee, a hint of alcohol, and dark fruits, simply perfect... The taste is equally perfect. Only thing that I wish it had was smoke to come to close to the Captain Lawrence Imperial Smoked porter. Roasted coffee with hints of chocolate, a slightly bitter finish. Did I say perfect?

This really flirts with perfection - a clean and focused strong porter. Strong chocolate and coffee. Rich and bold... big shout out to joet for orchestrating an excellent labor day, and the norbay crew for rocking out

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2013 Acquired through trade, courtesy of Adam. Thanks Man! Bottle shared at Home with friends. Poured pitch black with a small tan head and good lacing. Very viscous and syrup-like in appearance. Smell is dark chocolate, light char, dark fruit, coffee, a touch of leather, vanilla, graham crackers, and light tobacco. Taste is very chocolatey, tobacco, licorice, dark fruits, espresso, toasted malt, earthy, chewy, and char. Getting a lot of coffee lingering in the finish and it is delicious. Seriously creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very nice beer and easily the best porter I have ever had. A dark, malty, roasty porter with an assertively balanced hop presence; something I could drink everyday of the week. Every time I drink this thing I love it more and more. Could possibly be my favorite beer of all-time. Simply exceptional.

Opaque brown with a thick tan head. Chocolate, coffee, and roasted grains on the nose. Super full bodied, smooth, a truly memorable glass.
