Smooth, roasty, delicious... It was hard not to slam the whole bottle at once. Super sexy looking too with a nice tan head. Much thanks to jsbilk for this one.

Bottle. Huge thanks to mikem409 for this one! Pours black with a medium light brown head. Aroma is milk chocolate, coffee, roasted grain. Taste is medium sweet, with both a roasted and hoppy bitterness. Nice roasty finish. Incredible smooth mouth feel, soft carbonation. This is an excellent porter.

Bottle. Dark brown with a mocha head. Nice roasted malt aromas. Easy drinking with a really good mouthfeel and body. Rich roasted malt notes with mellow caramel, chocolate, toffee, and expresso undertones. Honestly, I prefer an imperial stout to a porter 99 out of 100 times. However, this is a very fine ale and an exception to the rule. One quick side note, this bottle had a bit of age on it so the hop characteristics were diminished. This is one HF beer that lives up to the hype...

Bottle. Black beer with a small tanned head. Chocolate, vanilla and lot off coffee aroma. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee. a bit tar, malty and roasted flavour,. A lovely beer :-)

750 ml growler from trade with 46er3498. Pours black with a small foamy head that fades quickly, leaves light oily webbing. Complex aroma of medium roasted coffee, chocolate, lactose sweetness, lightly charred wood, caramel, light smoke, and a light fruitiness too. Taste is very sweet for the usual porter. Has a milk stout quality to it. Nice coffee, caramel, and chocolate flavors. Finish is very smooth. Thin to medium body, mouthfeel is a little oily and very smooth. Overall, great rich flavors here. My one complaint is that it’s a little too sweet. Would definitely like some more bitterness or roast to balance the sweetness.

November 2, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs & mabel - 750ml swing-top shared by J&K. Black pour with ruby highlights, average bubbly tan/light brown head. Aroma is dry, nutty, lush, a bit of limestone mineral tang, lots and lots of low-level hopppzzz, even milky and minty - a spectacular smelling porter, and not over the top with the hops (apparently at this point I was making a series of "O!" faces). Taste - follows, almost as good as it smells - dry, roasty, hint of tart fruit. Slick, average carbonation and body, finishes dry and malty and a little earthy - yummy.

Pours black, huge mocha-colored head, thick bubbly cap, nice thick lacing. Really, a beautiful-looking beer. Nose is dark chocolate, slight smoke, oak/woody, nice hoppy notes. Flavor is similar to the nose, but even better. Nice bitter dark chocolate, molasses, creamy sweetness. Hard to express how delicious this one is. Medium body, rich and smooth, creamy finish.

Overall, this beer doesnt try to be anything but a phenomenal porter. Very straight forward and right on the spot. If you’re reading this Shaun, great job on this one. A must-try.

Pours a dark brown near black with beige head and little lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, litle coffee, hops. Taste is all those but hops are more present than the nose, light vanilla notes. Medium to full body and medium to low carb. Best porter i have had yet.

500ml bottle. Thanks Pat! Pitch black pour, with a nice finger of head. The smell is chocolate, coffee, and hint of sweetness. Wow, taste is full of chocolate, vanilla and has a great smooth finish. Excellent!!

Pours a jet black color with a slight mocha head. Smell is chocolate, caramel malts, coffee, and slight vanilla. Taste is awesome, unsweetened cocoa, caramel, vanilla undertones and a little hop bitterness. Coats the palette but finishes dry. Fantastic porter.
