Lightly cloudy gold pour, white head. Delicious piney hips up front then lead into a citrus zest flavor with a slight backbone of malt. As usually, supremely drinkable.

Draft (Monk’s Cafe, Philly). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, melon, grass, resin), with a light note of plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Another miss from HF, unfortunately. Raw hops (only barely saved by a honeydew-like character) and even a little plastic note make the aroma nearly unpleasant. Only slightly better in the mouth.

750 mL growler. Originally reviewed 2/24/2015. Hazy and yellow orange body. Nice white head. Nice white collar and a wispy surface. Smells of lemony hops. Musty grapefruit. Some herbal earthy tones. Taste mirrors the smell. Grapefruit and lemon hops. Musty. Grainy cracker malt. Minimal sweetness. Bitter finish. Medium body. Moderate bitterness. Well carbonated. Not up to the standards of other HF IPAs, but still an excellent beer.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2015 750mL growler, sent from yourilevesque (thanks so much, Youri!), pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh leafy hops, some pine, a little citrus, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with loads of fresh leafy, piney hops, followed by citrus, some earthy notes, and a big biscuity malt backbone. Doesn’t quite have the explosion of hops as per typical signature Hill Farmstead hoppy beers, but it’s certainly fresh and well-balanced, just perhaps a bit too much of the biscuity malt that leave a slight seltzery quality on the finish. All in all, great stuff, but not one of Hill Farmstead’s top hoppy beers.

Nice straw yellow pour and a pillowy white head. Mango strong on this guy but it has some diesel(just the tip) and a bit of pine. It’s mildly bitter for the style, lighter mouthfeel. Tame for sure.

Draft at Hill Farmstead. Pale yellow color. Wonderful citrus, lemony aroma, but a bit more mild in the flavor. Not as full as a mouthfeel as some of the other HF hops, but still quite tasty.
