Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. 5% ALC/VOL 12º P Ingredients: Pale Malt; Vermont Organic Wheat; American and European Hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

7 oz. pour during a tasting on 11-21-15. Bottled 4-30-15. Pours a hazy, pale gold with nearly white to cream-colored head. Nice, funky aroma is tart and floral. Very nice bouquet. Mineral, tart, very pleasant taste features flavors of bubblegum (this is very much a wheat beer), lemon, and green apple. Fairly sour. Dry finish. Soft and frothy in the palate. Light body. Overall, sophisticated and very good, as one expects from Hill Farmstead.

Well, this is incredible. Just easy to drink. A great funk aroma and the tart barnyard taste is simply delicious. Simple, a bit sour, not overwhelming by any means, and I get a touch of a wine oaky sweetness to it.

Bottle courtesy of Islay. Remarkable funk nose and flavor for a beer that looks like bud light. Tart and funky. Really dry finish. Can see how the sourophiles would love this.

750 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 7/4/2013. Hazy pale yellow. Huge white head. Great surface foam. Laces nicely. Smell is pale malt. Lots of wheat. Very yeasty. Hint of acidity. Lemony. Taste is sharp lemony yeastiness. Grainy. Very dry. Lingering tang. Light and highly attenuated. Well carbonated. I have come to appreciate this beer more and more every time I have it. Nothing is overpowering. Every flavor is in its right place.

Draft at RR. Pours clear pale yellow with some head that fades fast. Aroma is wheat, oats and pears. First sip is similar with a nice dry vinous finish.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2015 Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden - amber with a decent white head. The nose is fresh, funky, brioche, bread, stewed orange, peach and tinned nectarines. The taste is crisp, tart, bitter, sherbet, good mouth - pucker, bright acidity, some funk and bread with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Fresh and funky on the nose. Taste is a touch acidic, but yet enjoyable.
